Franklin River Suspension Bridge…Tasmania
In 1980, I drove overland from Stuart Hwy to William Creek. Entering the pub at the time, one had to step over a large pig sleeping in the doorway, which was difficult because of the short head height.
Wow, that’s amazing, though nothing surprises me in the bush.
You could drive a car between Strahan and Teepookana bridge up until 1997. The track was layed relayed in 1999 after it was lifted in 1963.
Righto, was that through Lowana?
Amazing areas Mark, thanks for taking us along. We fly to Hobart on Monday from queensland
No worries John, be a big change in weather from up there, though it’s been dry down the centre and east, enjoy your stay.
Bankrupt
At the 1.45 minute mark that was a Masonic apron belt clasp.
Wow, that’s amazing, thanks for the info, figured it could possibly be something to do with a belt.
Rainbow bee-eater ! ! ! The best bird in the world, look 4 them
Yes, very pretty bird, have viewed plenty of them in the Pilbara and Kimberley.
❤
We did the Gordon below Franklin and Sarah Is tour many years ago too, was amazing just how big that river was , lots of tannin in those tassie waters

Without the clouds you’ll be looking at Mt Huxley.
Pissing down rain every time I see Tassie, ❤😂
Yeah that chainlink gate with the CCTV sign looks pretty ancient. I'd guess maybe even early 2000's.
😂 Yes where is the running electricity for those camera's 😅
Haha, gate erected recently to keep tourists from injury.
Nice video Mark Well done !
Thanks.
Hardly ancient!
I barely understood one word he said.....that's quite the accent
Haha, an accent app would be handy.
Well ,why don`t you learn to speak Australian????
Ya been smoking too much Wacy Baccy!!!
May I help? I speak Australian.😊

My mate from central Queensland is heading down soon to buy a block near Hobart to retire on. Says he can’t handle the heat up here.
Righto, I much prefer the heat, though I think I maybe acclimatising a touch.

You’re most welcome.
Wat a bewtiful place, I do love Tassie 😊x
Yeah, enjoying driving around the forests. xx
Amazing very good, good lucky
Thanks, yes wilderness everywhere.
Great video Mark, imagine the work put in by the convicts cutting stone for masonry and mining coal. I was an underground coal miner and even with the latest equipment it was still hard work.
Yes, the convicts were treated harshly, probably none deserved the treatment down here, glad I wasn’t born hungry in England a hundred years or more ago.
I’m looking forward to seeing some of these places at the end of May.
That would be great John, the history and scenery is unique.
You’ve certainly covered some country over the past year or so Mark
Yes John, retired a year and a half ago and want to see as much as I can while the bodies able.
Hi Mark, 2 thing i really miss about Oz , birds chirping no matter where you are ,and the smell of the bush after rain , Cheers and stay well .

Nice countryside Mark, I’ll be down there in May with the better half and her cousin & wife for a couple of weeks.
Righto John, spectacular countryside and wilderness, much to see and not far between sights, hundreds of walks and so little time, would like to bring my own ute down and tour around at my own pace. Luckily I am with friends who are taking me fishing tomorrow, will be great just looking around.
It’s a nice spot on the water in Hobart. Water is crystal clear
Sure is John, and the air is fresh.
