No. You do not need to use the safety button to switch gears. To enter manual mode you simply push the stick shifter to the left (you dont need to press the safety button to get it into manual mode). Once in manual mode you can either change pulling the shifter up or down or you can use the paddle shifters on the steering wheel,

I read that I would need a dealer to code it but I installed it and everything functioned without re-coding.

Temp manual helps when you want to rev the engine by downshifting before passing. In automatic, the car only downshifts when you press down the accelerator which you may not want to do given traffic conditions. With temp manual, you can maintain speed, downshift, then accelerate for passing, then the car will switch back to automatic for regular driving. Manual just gives you more control over gear selection than automatic. No other benefit that I’m aware of.

I think the 4 cylinder goes great in a Porsche collection that also has a 911...they both have distinct personalities. I respect your opinion though and do agree that it has a similar sound as the WRX at low revs.

This 750 replaced a Lexus LS460...S Class was a very close second. I will probably get an S Class at some point.

With the variable geometry turbo charger there is only a slight turbo lag but lots of power along the entire rev range. I have the Porsche sport exhaust and I think it sounds great, however I am planning to upgrade to an aftermarket exhaust eventually.

get a warranty. i got a 18 G12. Turbo Coolant Lines went (as they are known to do) 22K miles. BMW paid for a new radiator, Thermostat and intercoolers. I guess they are known to corrode at least the 18 year. Most badass car i've ever owned. just get a warrenty

To get the car in manual mode you simply move the shift lever to the left… You’ll notice in the video that a shift left when going into manual mode. I apologize if the video was confusing, I made the video assuming that most that watched it had a basic knowledge of the Porsche PDK transmission. I’m more than happy to answer any other questions you might have.

Oh and I’m looking at the video again trying to figure out where you saw 201 mph…

I did not tune the car. It is stock but does have the sport Chrono package and the sport exhaust. If you have watched other videos where are they talk down on the sound of this vehicle… I’ve noticed that most of those go out of their way to show the car at certain RPMs in situations where the car doesn’t sound as great as it does in normal driving conditions. The four-cylinder turbo is like an instrument… And when played well it sounds awesome

I think manual shifting is faster than regular driving mode but in Sport Plus it takes it all the way to the redline if you are at full throttle. I use manual mostly for downshifts since PDK can't really predict that.

For the difference in price between the 718 S and GTS 4.0 the flat four is a greater bang for your buck and in my opinion I think the flat four sounds great.

Thank you… The reviews have definitely been mixed on this car but I’ve had mine for two years now and I love it. And I chose this car over a base 911.

I don’t see a huge difference between the prices and when it comes to performance the 718 beats the 981 in every aspect.

Porsche did make tractors at one point in time so maybe that’s where the lawnmower sound comes from… Lol

That’s awesome… I did not know that you could have Porsche tune it. 400 hp sounds like what I need! I I was also looking at a 911 but for the difference in price there’s not a whole lot of difference in the driving experience.
