It definitely should get more of a mention, I hope I have done the site some justice with my video!

It is a very impressive sight! I wanted to see it from the nearby beach as well but didn't have time. Hope you get there one day!

I'm not well versed in the old testament, but I thought everything centered around the modern day Middle East and no other part of the world was mentioned?

I've heard the Hunter and Viggen were at the other site in Szolnok, but surely there's no way an Ilyushin would fit in the grounds unless they acquired more land!

@traveldan1 the IL-28 nato code "Beagle" Tactical Bomber is not very big. If they remove the wingpart outside of the engine/main landing gear it should be possible to transport it on the street. When I was there they had already decided where the wanted to place it..it is not bigger than a Su'27.

@@swisstestpilot ah, I thought you had meant the four engined turboprop IL 18 they had at the other area! The Beagle would be good to see at the RepTar museum, I've seen a couple of those recently at Polish air museums

The journey was about 25AED which is around £5 in GBP. Pretty good value considering the journey is right across the country!

There certainly are a lot of very interesting aircraft on show at Hendon! Have you visited some of the other aviation museums in England?

@@traveldan1 No but I'd love to get to Duxford. While I'm at it, there's a Halifax in a museum in Yorkshire I'd like to see. A dear friend of mine who recently passed away at 100 was a Halifax navigator in WW ll.

@@gordonbergslien30 I've been to that museum and seen the Halifax, but I wasn't filming to make these videos at the time unfortunately! It would make a good pilgrimage for you then by getting there and seeing the aircraft!

@@traveldan1 We are planning another trip to the UK in 2026. Hopefully, I will get to Yorkshire and Cosford. Btw, I love the UK. It's like being in Europe but everyone speaks English--except for the cabbie in Edinbourgh. I couldn't understand a word he said.

Hi, Yeah the German Trains suck since they were privatized. There was a trains boos called Mehdorn and he began the systematic destruction of services with the German railroad. It has become so bad I rather drive than use the train when coming and going from and to the Frankfurt airport.... Lousy sad affairs.

@@BetterAircraftFabric Interesting to know. Here in Britain we had a similar thing where a lot of the smaller train routes were discontinued. Services aren't that bad here, though I've only taken a few local trains

@@traveldan1 The German Train system is an absolute mess, and to top it all of they now are only checking the tickets of the German-looking passengers and are not even asking those that look, lets say, "Hostile" = To de-conflict. Violence has been an issue on trains and train stations, too.

@@traveldan1 Thank you it certainly was. There is another Hastings at the Imperial War Museum (Duxford I think) that he flew. I'm going to visit Newark and take the log books with me. They might want to copy the relevant pages for display with the Aircraft, my sister in Perth (WA) will have photos of my dad in uniform that I can offer as well. Finally thank you for posting the video great work.

@@billwelsh1502 I'm sure they will be interested to hear of the family connection to the museum's exhibit, and they might even let you take a look inside the aircraft as Newark does open cockpit days!

Greetings from England! Sounds like it was a very different time of year compared to when I filmed this then as it was over 30C 😄 The Vulcan is big, but if there was a Boeing B 52 here as America's equivalent bomber, it would absolutely dwarf it!

@traveldan1 Yes, the B52 is absolutely huge, but nowhere near as stunning and beautiful as the Vulcan! 👍😊

@@traveldan1 It’s definitely worth a trip! Free admittance, you can bring your own F&B (no glass bottles of course) and there are plenty of camping opportunities as the Red Bull Ring is right across the road! It’s again September 6&7 this year, so you still got some time to think this through!

Good question, I'm not sure about that one. As this looks like a small and basic design, there's no particular things like a decorative arch entrance that I would know as being characteristically Norman. I'm no expert by any means, but sometimes it is nice just to have some mystery surrounding ruins like these

I've seen a video from that museum and it's made me want to get there too! Hope you enjoy your trip there when you go!

Anywhere where there are aircraft on show, I'd go to find them! I hope to visit some Scandinavian countries soon ☺

@@traveldan1 Also, the Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology in Oslo has the first ever jetliner to serve with SAS Scandinavian Airlines: - Sud Aviation Carravelle "Finn Viking" LN-KLH on display. Only the third Caravelle produced in the world and the first to enter service outside France. I believe you can enter it, atleast on some days.

Sometimes it looks like they have raided the nearest hairdresser salon or department store! 😄

I think most visitors would be respectful of the ruins and the wildlife that live amongst them. There weren't many people at all on the two times I visited this site, so the iguanas will probably be safe ☺

It is a great museum, well worth the journey to get there! I heard some of the Eurofighters take off whilst I was there but wasn't in time to see them 😅 Hope you get there one day!

Very nice, these places are great to explore as I've been pretty much the only one there at each fort I visited. I would definitely like to see some more of these, especially the forts at Al Jahili and Al Bithnah

@@traveldan1 Al bitnah fort is nice, theres a nature trail you can do there too, either up to the top of the mountains or just around the valley 🙂

Living in Norwich theres loads of little aircraft museums scattered around Norfolk !! Thorpe Abotts is properly my favourite

They definitely would not be able to get a Concorde anywhere near the Science Museum unless they were to keep it in the grounds of the nearby Natural History museum!

The museum is expanding a bit too at the moment with some other collections being brought in to Norwich!
