Fanatec CSL DD (PRO) on CSL desk clamp vs Moza R9 desk clamp
Hello racers! Here a video with the conclusion that the R9 desk mounting clamp is best solution for us, non-rig owners.
A reddit post inspired me and man, this result was better than expected. It fits perfectly, you have to get longer bolts though. The included bolt of Moza are 12 mm and to short. 15mm already does the trick.
hope you find this useful. I did not film me driving. There are plenty videos of Moza bases on the clamp.

I bought the Moza table clamp and perfectly fits with my CSL DD, thanks for the video!
Good to hear! Enjoy, it is so solid. Still no complaints for me.
Is it possible to assemble everything upside down, i.e. with the base facing down?
@@sefou974 I would say only if you install it under the desk. That would mean to that on top of the desk you have the two clamps sticking out, about eight centimeters depending on the thickness of the desk. I have tried this, but my assumption is that the clamp it self is strong enough.
my fanatec desk clamp broke the 1st day i got it ...just bought this im hoping im ok
how'd it go?
Thanks for taking the time to explain this! Was massively helpful for me and will make choosing my next wheel and mounting solution that bit easier.
Perfect video bro. Helped me decide which clamp to get. 100% going to spend the $50 AUD more for the Moza clamp
For dd1 fanatec Is ok??
I have no experience with the DD1 on the clamp. You can compare the slots in the manuals I guess. Also maybe, a DD1 could be a bit overpowered for application on a desk and a deskclamp. But as I said, no experience .
Anyone know if this mount works for the GT DD PRO? Cheers
If you mean the GT DD Pro that contains the CSL DD Pro than yes. If you mean the clubsport DD than you have to check if the mount slides have the distances as the CSL DD (Pro)
@@rakimaje8433 what? the GT DD PRO is a different base
I am only familiar with the GT DD Pro in the combination with the CSL DD Pro base, for PS5. The meaning GT is only for the wheel rim which suits the GT7 game. That is the reason for my answer.
Cheers for this video, ordered one for myself too 👍
would like to know the height of the clamp’s bottom part (the big screw after locked on table)🙏🏻
Do you mean the length of the screws underneath the table? That also depends on the thickness of the table. My guess for a 18mm table is 8cm. I will get back to you in a couple of days, than I will measure. please respond again if you don't hear anything.
@@rakimaje8433thank you so much!
@@rakimaje8433hi bro, any update?
@@andychang728 I have a 50mm thick desk and than the two knob of the screws are 10,5 cm lower than the bottom of the desk
If I have a moza R5 can I use the fanatec clamp?
dont recommend
Very helpful. Thank you!
Hey man, thanks a lot for the Suggestion.I got mine yesterday with the one with fanatecs and actually I broke the one plastic part which hold the nut maybe I turned it too much but before I broke it there was a lot of shaking through my desk.I will buy the monza ones they look much better and stronger.
It is very sturdy. Recently I visited the Fanatec website and saw they have a new type of clamp. This also looks good, but is still twice the price of the Moza, without shipping costs. So I think the Moza is still the better one. Have fun with your setup.
@@rakimaje8433 thanks a lot man I will order the monza one it looks really solid and it stays on the table not on the edge of the table like fanatecs.
@@PatrolHeadsjust got mine yesterday and the moza clamp is arriving today you will need to pruchase 4x 20mm m6 bolts from a hardware store
Yea but u gotta drill those black bolts or screws at the bottom at the end of clamp in on your desk ugh
Hey mate, I do not actually understand what you mean, but for me no drilling was involved.
So mate you didn’t have to drill the black screws in the moza table clamp on the end to make the fanatec wheel not move while racing on pc @@rakimaje8433
Hey love the review im, going to be getting a CSL DD 8nm soon, and saw a lot of people saying this clamp is the best to get, and heard u mention about screws being to small im not very good with what screws to get, is M6 6mm x 20mm the correct screws for the clamp, and if not what ones should i order :)
Thank you @gorzi, I used two bolts M6*15mm and two bolts M6*20mm. I was afraid 20mm could be too long, but it seems ok. Since I installed the desk mount on the desk it was so sturdy that I have not moved it. Therefore I did not remove the CSL DD base to check if maybe 20mm damages the base. I believe M6*20 mm fits perfectly and 15mm also does the job. Enjoy the DD racing!
thankyou for the fast reply and good to hear :)@@rakimaje8433
@@rakimaje8433 The 20mm will have contact to the CSL DD. It is better to use shorter bolts. I use 16mm.
@@barthaare4902 hey! Did you buy the 16mm screws online or find them in stores? Maybe I'll order a DD Pro and get the same bracket. They've come out with a new bracket "ClubSport DD Table Clamp" apparently, but I don't know if it'll be stronger than the Moza one.
@@azeini I had a box with different sizes of screws. You can buy this online or in stores. If you only want this 4 screws it probably better to buy in store. I saw a picture where the Clubsport DD Table clamp had scratched the wheelbase. Don't know if this was a clamp or user problem, but with moza clamp you will scratch nothing.
Hey mate where did you purchase the longer screws?
At a local hardware store. If you Google for bolts than you are more likely to get the right ones.
Just ordered a fanatec csl dd, with pedals, shifter and ebrake and I ordered the Moza mount based on a few videos I’ve seen. Are you still happy with the setup?
I spend hours behind the desk now, and I have not touched the clamp ones because it is still firm in position. Only thing I adjusted is the angle plate for some comfort. This is easy to do and offers more adjustment than the original DD clamp. That one is only gathering dust. One thing to be cautious about....if you need go under the desk with you head, to reach for your pedals for instance, be aware of the large bolts. You can hurt your head quite a bit, lol. I still am convinced this is the best clamp for a DD wheel on a desk.
@@rakimaje8433 amazing, can’t wait until my stuff arrives and I get to set it up and test it out. Been using my current Logitech g27 for close to 14 years now. Nothing wrong with it but it seems the direct drive stuff is a good leap ahead. Appreciate the reply!
@@x_Heffe_X You will be in for a treat! I switched from T300 to CSL DD pro. And although it may not make you faster, the experience is so much more fun! Enjoy it.
