the record making process can really feel daunting sometimes and there's hours upon hours of unseen work that goes into just making a 3min tune. it's crazy to even think about but there's nothing else i'd rather be doing. i have so much new music being finished that it's pretty overwhelming and this year will be the year i get to share it with you guys cheers, reb x check out the whole series s...

this seemed to pop for what i'm used to but i really liked how it felt and the role of each instrument. it sounds quite cheesy and fake as a demo but i think it can be something more exciting and listenable. maybe?? haha cheers, reb writing my first album (series): th-cam.com/video/zZisj-TLE8U/w-d-xo.html #albumprocess #songwritingjourney #musicproduction #makingmusic #creativeprocess #reb #reb...

writing an alt-rock song for the first time (part 11)
มุมมอง 84หลายเดือนก่อน
this song is a reflection of everything i've been learning and experiencing during this journey of creating my first album. it's been such a wild process of experimenting with sounds and pouring my heart into every track. i know that the final product will be night and day from this demo, but i truely believe that a great song should sound good from day 1. maybe this is good, maybe it isn't? ch...

while recording the last few songs, i was doing more songwriting and have decided on recording some new tunes. i'd say that the process of writing these songs was already such a change from when i first started. i also think starting to get addicted to producing so i guess this is a good sign :))) i am definitely still going through a huge exploration phase as each song is quite different from ...

Food was always primarily about survival but also human relations, always. The meals you remember the most are the ones either you were super hungry or the ones you shared with a person who is very special to you. As if a hunter-gatherer catching a game and sharing with his starving family or a village. It is in our dna.
That's a really great way to think about it - makes so much sense!
Beautiful ❤❤
Thank you so much!
Really lovely idea, i really was starting to feel that most days are similar as u do the same repetitive tasks and i always believed that documenting your day was the way to go but its alot of work for me at least, that's why I think the idea of capturing the unique part of each day a good or bad in small paragraph is a brilliant idea
i love it! remember it doesn't even have to be a small paragraph. just put a single sentence and you'd be surprised how much you can recall even a month later. you've got this!
So glad this video showed up in my feed! I've tried to get into journaling time and time again but i've always found it so hard to stick with as it's such a time consuming task. This seems like a more practical alternative.
For sure! Don't make it time consuming just making in meaningful and as low effort as possible. It'll become much more enjoyable the more you do it!
Really beautiful video -- this is such a wonderful idea, i am absolutely doing this for 2025! I've always wanted to journal more, but frequently lose happy memories and moments because the dread of writing out pages and pages of detailed thoughts was too daunting for me to even start... I'm also not much of a storyteller, I've always had trouble recalling interesting stories from my life or even just remembering if i did anything fun over the weekend... but i can tell this will definitely help, and I'm excited by that! Thank you for such invaluable advice, I hope your 2025 treats you well :")
thats amazing to hear your commitment! make it as easy as possible for yourself to start. it'll only ever be as hard as you make it! i'm sure you'll look back on it in 6 months time and be super thankful you did! keep me updated!
*Bro, you're killing it with the TH-cam algorithm right now. The fact I found this so randomly. Keep grinding and wish you nothing but success in your journey!*
Thankyou! These comments are what keep me pushing through and capturing this journey. I appreciate it alot
This video is really well produced. Love seeing the production behind on some of your composition.
Thankyou!! Im producing a bunch of new songs currently and will slowly share them over the course of next year!!
playing guitar in bed is so real
constant rebirth in quicksand.
great analogy, sounds quite intense though!
Keep it up bro! everything will makes sense someday! and everyone will recognize your talent!
@@MyNameIsG thanks so much!
Great 😊 😊
@MooreMusic12 thankyou!
You got it, I don't know what it is but you've got it. Well done
wow thankyou so much! i hope you'll stick around
What mic do you use to record at home? Everything sounds really good!
thankyou! it's crazy how i feel the exact opposite haha goes to show how critical we tend to be. i use a tlm103 as my main workhorse
I just know I'm going to have this album on repeat the second it comes out.
wow thankyou!
Very nice 😊

I'm so happy that the algorithm gods decided to show me your channel. Been following this process along with you and it's really inspiring, and seeing you listen to your own songs in the car makes me so happy! Keep up the good work my friend!
thank you so much! i appreciate you choosing to spend your following along this journey. i hope you'll enjoy the songs when they come out!
Nice job! I just spent the summer recording my first album, a brutal but highly rewarding experience. Keep going!
thats amazing! i'm sure it was just as rewarding as it is for me
Beautifully put man
Thanks alot Ken!
Thanks

keep doing it also!
Has a like Blackbird 🐦⬛ feel to it. Sounds good
it's an honor to even be compared to it !
Great cover! 👍
Thank you so much!
Sounds great. Good luck!
thankyou!!
really cool! what mic are you using for vocals?
One of them is a Sennhesier mic that belongs to a friend and my trusty TLM 103
Great 😊
Sounds really good man, keep going!
Thankyou!
niiiiiice man =D
What microphone did you use for the Over-The-Shoulder recording?
@@TheSlazzer Its the cheap rode condenser, I think the NT series? I don’t have any other LDC so I just use the two that I’ve got
6:41 Soo true. I'm in the middle of producing and mixing a song for a punk rock band and its the first mix that I'm doing. I've already learnt so much but I've also spent so much time correcting previous mistakes, but that's just a part of the process. Also I can really recommend buying a producing/mixing/mastering book because its just able to teach you in so much more depth than 50 uncoordinated youtube videos. (Not to say youtube videos cant provide valuable information. Its just better to get it from one source than 50 different.)
@@TheodorNickelsen oh for sure! I usually go to books first but I find that they don’t teach the creative sound design trick like using a “shock absorber” etc. But they’re great for technical approaches !
these visuals are amazing ✨
Hoy cow that sounds FIRE 🔥
Just randomly got recommended this vid - the algorithm did me a solid! The harmonies give off a bit of a Bon Iver type of comforting & hauntingly beautiful aspect. You gained a subscriber!
Appreciate it Carson! It's super humbling to even be in the same in the sentence as Bon Iver. Can't wait to show you more!
Hey brother, I'm a musician too, keen to tag along and see your progress. I was actually thinking of also documenting my creation process, seems like a great way to share inspiration ✌️
Hey! Thanks so much for sharing and I fully support you chasing your dreams! I think document is just an amazing way to show yourself just how far you've come!
Love this ❤😊
This is SOOO cool!! How is this series not getting more attention?!?! Also I love these harmonies and just the vibe and everything 10/10. I'm actually really exited to hear this album when its done!
Thanks so much theo!! I'm super excited to share them soon and I'm already deciding on the next set of songs to record. Not sure what will make the "album" cut but exciting times ahead!
5:49 OOUU That sounded cool though! Might not fit the vibe but I always like when unexpected things happen lol. I have really enjoyed this series! Keep it coming!
hahah you might be right! it's hard to know until you try though !

I just discovered your channel and I liked your entire series on your album and I plan to do the same for this one. What you do is motivating! Keep going! I'm going to pick up my acoustic guitar again and never give up! Except that I don't have a road map to learn and I end up getting discouraged. I would like to be able to compose my songs. Any advice for me!?🥺
really appreciate it ! i'm glad you find it motivating and i hope you keep up with the acoustic guitar! don't give up as well!

It's amazing to hear you're so inspired. The best way to find your sound is by just playing. Don't be afraid to make mistakes and have fun with it!
I appreciate you sharing the real and raw side of your journey. The good, the bad, and the messy are all important moments in our journey. This allows us to reflect, assess and pivot in the right direction. You’re doing the best you can with what you have, and we can all see the time, care and love you’re putting into this craft. 1% better every day champ. We’re backing you 🐶🍔
thanks salvatorezoccoli9211 ! i totally relate to what you're saying. We're all humans at the end of the day so who am i to pretend it's an easy process. 1% everyday champ is the way

Just keep going Reb. Some of my favorite albums were recorded on small budgets (all Rodriguez albums come to mind) and those recordings actually make the music what it is. At the end of the day it's about the songs. Remember to reconnect to your "why". Focus on your unique expression. If you can improve something by just 1% everyday the quality that you feel is lacking at the moment will come. The most important thing is to just keep going. Still looking forward to hearing what you put down. 🙌
i appreciate the amazing reply! it's super reassuring to hear your perspective on it. i definitely agree with you, nothings going to stop me. but i also think its important to keep documenting the ebbs and flows because it's also a very real side of the story
