Contra Propellers
Contra rotating propellers are mainly used in aircrafts for propulsion. Here in this video contra rotating system is implemented using five helical gears that has four different sizes but all have same module and tooth pitch.
Contra Rotating Propeller is a system of two propellers placed one behind the other on a suitable drive shaft of the same engine spinning in opposite directions by employing suitable gear drive system.
Contra rotating propellers have been found to be between 6% and 16% more efficient than normal single propellers. However they can be very noisy, with increases in noise in the axial (forward and aft) direction of up to 30 dB, and tangentially 10 dB.

Diesel engine means V12 to used of torque converter double transmission and double differential, means to say double transmission double shaft to connect of driveshaft and steering shaft to connect double differential to use of control the brake steering wheel .

Almost all world war 2 tanks. TIGER tanks of Germany, improved version of double differentials known as Maybach system were used in German PANTHER tanks.

Small part of WWII vehicles used double differentials. Virtually all Soviet tanks used clutch and brake, as did Panzer III and Panzer IV. Lots of others used controlled differential. French CharB was one of the first to have double diff steering. It entered production in 1936.

These types of gear box propellers were used extensively during the wars in torpedo drive systems. The counter rotating props helped to neutralize directional rotating torque to keep the torpedoes running straight and true with minimum necessity for more complex guidance systems

Planetary gear trains are used to reduce the output speed and increase the torque in a compact package. They are used in automatic gearbox of cars, large trucks, as final drive gear train in tracked vehicles like bull dozers, tracked shovels, also used in electric hub motors of e bikes for increasing the drive torque. These are some applications apart from this they are used in many number of industrial machines that need a compact design. Planetary gear trains are compact and smaller in size and weight when compared to compound gear trains of same power level.

Using an hydraulic motor. motor direction is changed using direction control hydraulic valve. Hydraulic motor is driven by pressurized fluid supplied by oil pump attached to the engine.

Neutral steering is always done when the vehicle is stationary. Two tracks will move in opposite directions with respect to each other. Hydraulic motor with appropriate gearing is capable of producing such high torques for rotating the vehicle in the same place. Differential gears are used to give compliance when one of the tracks get stopped or slowed down without blocking the engine. Some modern excavators designs also have final planetary gear drive with a hydraulic motor as the prime mover to move the vehicle that is attached within the track itself. The engine in the vehicle runs a powerful oil pump that supplies pressurized fluid to all hydraulic equipments in the vehicle which are controlled by respective valves. Hydraulic motors are such a powerful piece of equipment.

Grey colour horizontal shaft is the main output shaft which has splines, brass yellow colour component is dog clutch that engages and disengages the forward and reverse bevel gears. Red, blue and green colour components are bevel gears. Green colour bevel gear is the driving gear which is connected to the engine. Shifting lever slides on the groove of the dog clutch. I don't know what is your application is. But if you want to build one to verify the working mechanism of this gear box then start with small parts. Buy two sets of electric angle grinder bevel gear sets, which you can buy online. These spare bevel gear set costs around 380 rupees. Find a suitable shaft for the gears. Use plywood for supporting structure. Use ball bearings for supporting the gears. You can weld the projections for the dog clutch and file it smooth. Make only two splines on the main shaft and in the dog clutch to simplify the process. Two splines should be opposite to each other on the shaft. Cut matching slot in the dog clutch internally. This will be fun to build.

What software did you used to design and render those simulations (or animations if so)?
Blender 3D. Modelling, animation, rendering and video editing all done using Blender. You can download the software from www.blender.org
the fork/sleeve connection is not physically possible/buildable as you drew it, with a pass-trhough rod. How is the real connection of such device shaped?
The fork is a "C" shaped structure, there is no rod in between the two arms of the fork. The round end of the fork arm just slides in the groove of the sleeve. This is roughly 150 year old mechanism. Watt governor is the first centrifugal governor introduced for automatic speed control of steam engines. You can watch other types of governor animations in my channel to better understand the fork sleeve mechanism. Even in the forks of other types there is no rod passing through the sleeve. Fork pins are short enough to fit inside the groove on the sleeve on both sides.

The Rolls Royce Griffon gearbox is similar, but a more clever variation that uses one less gear: it has a single idler gear replacing the driven and driving pinions (shown in yellow in this model) on the countershaft.
