Miami's LB play was phenominal in this game. Every run that looks like it could break for 8-10 yards, a single LB makes the stop to hold it to 2-3 yards.

It’s funny, I was a lot more into football back then and I loved college football.. then I was 17 at a time…Big Maryland fan from Maryland and something told me to stick with this game. I didn’t turn it off. I didn’t expect MD to comeback to win, but I always stuck through any team of mine, no matter how bad they were losing!

This game ended up being a bittersweet moment for the Miami Hurricanes program because the last of Butch Davis' ELITE recruits from the high school classes of 2000 and 2001 (Sean Taylor, Jonathan Vilma, Kellen Winslow Jr., Vince Wilfork, D.J. Williams, Vernon Carey, Antrel Rolle, etc.) were graduating and/or entering the 2004 NFL draft, and the program has never been the same since...FOR 20 YEARS AND COUNTING!! The U has not been able to produce a team that comes close to the stellar 2000-2001-2002 Butch Davis-constructed teams. The current 2024 Miami team led by Cam Ward has the potential to do it (they are currently 4-0, ranked #7 and have blasted all 4 opponents) but its only September, we have to see how things play out. This game also has highly-rated NFL prospects (Sean Taylor, Kellen Winslow, Antrel Rolle, Vince Wilfork and D.J. Williams for Miami along with Michael Boulware and Darnell Dockett for Florida State) participating. That's something we don't see nowadays as most potential 1st or 2nd round picks opt out of non-playoff/championship bowl games. I don't necessarily blame them for opting out but its interesting to see the shift.

From here on in until the rivalry ended in 2011 Texas won most of their games against A&M before that A&M dominated Texas from 1984 to 1994. A&M won every game except in 1990.

Back then when A&M would dominate Texas. From 1984 to 1994 A&M beat Texas every year except 1990. A&M decided to go for 2 rather than kick the extra point. Texas got the ball and never gave it up running out the rest of the 3 minute clock.

This was my first ever ECU game. I was 14. Wasn’t even a fan. Just went cuz my friend and his family invited me. Little did I know I’d go to ECU, and be a life long alumni and fan.

My first year at UF. Magical. Spurrier was God as far as I was concerned and he made my experience at UF just exceptional. That 35-0 Bama blowout in 1991 at UF was my favorite game. Well maybe the auburn 48-7 drubbing was even better.

The 1996 and 1997 OU-Nebraska games were so incredibly lop-sided. I'm a Husker fan, but I prefer the more competitive games between these two teams.

ECU should be banned from from recruiting in North Carolina. If a college listens to a high school coach and let's the high school coach dictate who you recruit they should be banned. In Clinton,NC there was a coach by the name of Bob Lewis who coached the Clinton high darkhorses. Back in 1994-95 Clinton high had an outstanding running back that ECU was recruiting, a running back that could have started his freshman year for the Pirates but Bob Lewis completely blacked balled him. ECU recruiter at the time was Dale Steele. Dale Steele comes to Clinton high school to offer the young man a scholarship and Robert Bob Lewis completely talked so bad about the talented running back that Dale Steele didn't want to offer the special running back a scholarship. The talented running back could have been a super star that would have helped ECU win championships! ECU really struggled after that when they could've had an outstanding running back that would have brought glory to the program!

The announcers of this game showed how Bias the people other Miami was. Miami beat FSU the whole game. Right at the end of the game a fight broke out. The announcer knew FSU player started it. Yet he tried to make people watching on TV think it was Miami. I'm glad the announcer on the field on the Air ask Dennis Erickson the Miami Hurricanes coach about it. Which gave MIAMI a chance to speak the truth. FSU tried to fight because they knew they couldn't Win. The problem is. MIAMI HURRICANE players always backed up what they said and EVERY TIME FSU COMES OUT RANK #1 MIAMI ALWAYS BEAT THEM. MIAMI WON THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP YET NOTRE DAME STARTED IN 1990 RANK #1 AND GOT BEAT BY ( STANFORD ) 1987 MIAMI HURRICANES WON THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. YET FSU STARTED THE 1988 SEASON RANK#1 AND MIAMI BEAT THEM 31-0

I believe this was Bill McCartney’s best team at Colorado. The ‘90 championship team wasn’t as good as this Buffaloes squad.
