Summary: the problem is a faulty keyboard. The power button is part of the keyboard. Which is why you get behaviour like being able to power on the laptop with any button, or the laptop receiving a power down signal after 5 seconds.

for the viewers: be with ABSOLUTE CAUTION in case you want to follow this video during disassembly as it neglects crucial steps like screws around the battery compartment (probably due to the video cuts of the process). make sure you watch other disassembly videos too, and build up your own method carefully as you go. needless to say, you might also have to reassemble it, so take your own photos and notes. dont be alarmed, this laptop is quite easy to take apart (only a few different type of screws, cables not fiddling around tight spaces etc.) and then put it back together. do spend time on losing and tigthening the screws in order as marked on the thermal unit, clean and apply proper thermal paste, and if you have the chance, be prepared to replace those 4 thermal pads too! blow the dust off the units, and as for the fan hold it still while doing so, and dont bother in case some bits and pieces fall off -its a 12 year old laptop after all! for the video maker: thanks for a the video though, it did help me.

Disconnect the battery and plug in the laptop and press power button for 20 second the re conect the battery and unplug the charger if it's turn on then nice If not ther remove the ram and SSD Clean both with clean brush Clean the mother board see if it work It worked for me ❤😊😊
