This is a lovely piece of ovangkol getting cut into shape and calibrated to a customers specs.

Not luthier related, but some of you might appreciate how beautiful this piece of wood is.

Just a little video of the new and improved binding jig. We took into account all customer suggestions and the base is smaller now, leaving more space for moving the body and cradle around, the L shaped supports are height adjustable and also the guide rail system was improved to a better quality one. Also the jig is ready for adding counterweight parts which are coming soon.

Radius Dish UK new binding jig in use. It takes about 6 minutes to bend one side when everything is prepped and ready to go. It's an open design style bending machine and it's very simple to use. Here you can see I am bending a piece of walnut which I have sandwiched between stainless steel slats and baking paper together with the heating blanket.
