Playful Sea lions take over Tunstall

It was an unusual summer last year where Tunstall Bay and other bays and coves around Bowen Island were taken over by Sea Lions! Although not common around Howe Sound, the last few years have seen an increasing population.

No Ordinary commute to Bowen Island!
มุมมอง 51K6 ปีที่แล้ว
A Crazy commute to the island in raging winds and huge swells. 2:20pm sailing, Dec. 20, 2018 Bowen Island is a small island located in the Salish Sea, BC, Canada. The ferry ride is typically 20 minutes and usually is a smooth ride.
holy smokes, I didn't know the ferry could get slapped like that lol
0:07 How dare you? If I want to identify as a walrus and stay outside that's my choice!
Why were there civilans onboard? It was an emergengy situation. Power outages, Municipal property damage and dangerous cargo. BC Ferries, who was in charge of deck loading the bowen ferry that day?
why is the bow open to the sea
gate blew open
all passanger in the lounge please go outside on a deck😂
No More videos??
NOPE!
The lounge is where it`s at.
Don't understand why they use open ferries not at all designed for rough sea in those conditions, but entertaining to watch :)
On bowen, they don't often get these waves.
90% of the time its smooth ride. Very rare to have conditions like this but the Queen of Capilano is a very solid vessel :)
Hey Bowen Life, do you have an email address at which we could contact you regarding this video? We would be interested to discuss a license to use this video if this is generally possible? (i.e. via email) :) Cheers, Felix
The guy on the PA needs to find another job. The panic in his voice is totally uncalled for and does nothing but rile up nervous passengers. The guy by the camera had it right. It makes more sense to stay in your vehicle than to get out and get washed away by a wave.
Trying to stage a mutiny on a voyage that happened years ago.
yup
Was the ferry the Queen of Capilano?
Yes
Island sky isn't it!
Looks nice lol that cool jus takin waves like a boss yup
Crazy
0:19 due to the motion and sound from the camera, you could feel and see the boat shake when the wave hit the port side.
My mom was on the ferry
Is there longer footage?
yes, here: facebook.com/rizdebski/videos/10161145338750640/UzpfSTg4MzQzNTYzOTozMDYwNjExMjk0OTk0MTQ6MTA6MTU0NDQyODgwMDoxNTQ2NTAyMzk5OjI1NTQ5NTYxMzk4OTQ1Njg5NDY/?source=promotion_feed_story&story_id=10150335153460640
Any more footage or is that it ?
rodkrell1 I have the full video, about 8 mins long. Will upload it soon.
Where's that 8min video
Looks like the waves opened the gate at the front of the ferry and that's scary.
Oh my, I just noticed that!!
Kjnnnnmmkk0oppoo3knf klmmmmm
cool video, thanks for sharing
I bet they were cherry-picked to be at the front of the ferry.
Big trucks are generally loaded first so they can better distribute the weight on the boat.
