The Historic Hemet Theatre Presents Led Zepagain
Led Zepagain rocked The Historic Hemet Theatre on November 18th, 2023!! I captured some cool moments, and the marquee that needs some serious help!! They have a fundraiser in December...I'm hoping to help in a few ways as well!! The theatre really needs the Cinema experience to come back! It could be the Inland Empire's New Beverly Cinema!! I'm sure Quentin Tarantino would agree!! Long Live Film!!

I recently moved to Hemet, California, after moving out of Hemet 37 years ago...this town has changed a bit. I wanted to share this experience with you. Like my video of Klamath Falls, Oregon, I let this breathe as well!! Karl Casey's music again captures the tone and atmosphere of this interesting, historic town. And the fantastical surroundings the Hemet Valley has to offer!! There is a magic...

It was 1800s days at the Klamath County Museum over the weekend, I checked it out, and captured some cool stuff!! Hemet is a great place to live, real Millow, yeah there are few homeless, drug addicts, but that’s everywhere, no matter where you live these days, I feel like I’m in the country, it’s peaceful town. Cops are on top of things out here.

    If you don’t have at least 10 tattoos on your ass you don’t belong … I’m 77 and seen Hemet go through many changes … my dad when 12 years old used to go up HWY 74 with his dad and deer hunt on Thomas Mountain which overlooks Lake Hemet … so back in the mid 1950’s our family would venture up HWY 74 (Florida Ave) up thru the one horse town of Hemet … back then there was one old gas station that was closed on Sundays … my folks had a house trailer on Lake Hemet … my family used to spend time on the Lake … in 1990 my folks sold their houses and bought a house in Val Verde a suburb of Hemet … at that time Florida Ave was rated #4 in the USA as being one of the most wealthy places due to all of the money from retirees moving there… the Hospital grew with some 250+ doctors with all of the elderly… then younger people started moving to Hemet because of the job opportunities… restaurants, elderly care facilities, you name it, etc. it soon became a slum and not elderly friendly… OH there are still lots of elderly… but not my cup of tea … my parents have since passed … but if your looking to get several tattoos… “It’s a great place with the thousands of so so tattoo artists that now reside in Hemet” …

    I am resident here for 4 yrs. Actually in San jacinto but close enough. Moved from LA in 2020. Someone way back decided to turn Hemet into a retirement community of mobile homes. I am in one. No issue but retirees don,t bring a lot of money here. Hemet depends on retail and that is being hard hit due to incipient recession. There is lots of new home tracts going up here. Many will be foreclosed and I see these ghost properties all over. there are neat tidy newer home tracts all over the city. Each has it's own minipark. Hemet has good hydro capture so lots of big trees all over, unlike treeless barren LA. Nearby neat places to drive reasonably close to Hemet: palm springs, Perris lake, Idlywild, Yucaipa and forest falls, temecula old town. hemet is great for cycling as many ruralish paths with no traffic but best cycling is Oct to April

      That someone was my dad who was friends with Art Llinkletter. He invested in and was spokesman for Sierra Dawn Estates, a 400 acre mobile home park where they purchased the lots.

    Hemet is a giant dump. I feel sorry for retired folks that live there. IT used to be an affordable place to retire. My mom retired there. She died in October of 23. I just finished closing all of her accounts and sold her little house. I will NEVER go back to that hell hole. I watched that place slide right into the sewer. There are junkies and homeless folks everywhere. It looks like an episode of the walking dead at night. There are lots of retired folks just trying to live and the scumbags have destroyed it. I saw gangbanger graffiti on the signs for the retirement parks.

      Well, all of Hemet isn't down the tubes...it's mainly downtown. With patches of neglect here and there. But there does seem to be a dying spirit, and that is sad indeed! It is still the gateway to Idyllwild!! Let's see if I can help get the Hemet Theatre Marquee restored, and maybe the flag replaced at the Museum! Somebody has to care...I know folks have in the past. They had a save our city campaign years ago...

      More videos of Pedro can be found on my channel...and they're pretty much altogether. Before those there is a documentary and a video of Pedro and The Pages at the Crazy Squirrel Concert Series back in 2014. There is one from the farewell concert for Pedro and The Pages, that I think you'll dig!! I hope you enjoy them!!

    • @dannazir
      @dannazir ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sparks1138 I love that Farewell concert indeed, I wish the full show could be put on DVD! I have seen the other videos except for Crazy Squirrel, I'll definitely check that out, thank you! The one I mentioned of him performing Starry Night was shot at the coffee shop and looked like the same recordings you made, but it was taken down after 2016 when I first saw it so perhaps it was someone else's footage. If you can possibly track it down or maybe ask the good people of Idyllwild to send you any videos they have of him for your channel, it would be so great to see everything that was recorded of him. Thanks again, and please let me know if you ever do release any DVDs, I'd most definitely want to purchase them! Pete was my high school English teacher here in Tucson back in the early 90's.

    Those of you that have never experienced a Civil War re-enactment don't know what you're missing! SO INTENSE! Especially with the old cannons. They were our true soldiers back then; running into a barrage of gun fire - cannon balls, etc. WOW. It's not like our push-button tech of today for sure. Do yourselves a favor and watch (and support) these re-enactments. Teach your kids how our country was made!

      You're very welcome! I love to support the arts; in Jr College, I had a camera crew and my fellow NASA (Native American Student Association). We sponsored campus Pow Wows at Greys Harbor College in Aberdeen, WA. We got a grant for (4)four cameras and some sound. I loved the entire process of editing, sound, et al.!! I'm working on creating a new me via social media and some form of creator and content. Should I discuss personal life issues and resolutions through meditation and counseling, or should I exploit myself to a minor or lesser degree? The other problem is I have so much head knowledge (my opinion) How do I share it? Plus I'm not ready I'm moving to California from Maine; where upon after settling in, I'll be shopping for my Camera, Halos/Box lights. Then figure out the new strategy of creator content. Regarding your desire to reconnect with your elders Bn is fantastic! Get all your families birth certificates (x7 Great Grand Parents to Parents. Then cross-referenced with “Us Government Tribal Census Counts” from reservations. www.bia.gov/guide/tracing-american-indian-and-alaska-native-aian-ancestry I've forgotten to ask your name.
