Before I was a NC Correctional Officer, I was in the U.S. Army 8 years active duty, an addition 4 years in the USNG and 4 years in the USAR. I was a REAL sergeant where REAL standards apply. No 300+ pound men with sergeant strips appearing to be rolling down the hallways. Embarrassing to see that in any professional field, especially military, law enforcement and correctional. If a person has no more "self control" than that, then they shouldn't "control" others. There's obviously then a question on their other standards as well. Just my personal opinion. It's called freedom of speech. You'll find it in the Constitution. I welded during the NG and AR years. Then I became a detention officer and then a deputy in Surry county, NC. We shared customers together with the state. That's when I found about about the early retirement offered by the state and about to be done away with. So I transferred from my county job to a state job with then NCDOC. I then served as a NC Correctional Officer / Chauffeur / Butler / Elite babysitter at a 1000 bed men's maximum security institution, AXCI. Early vested and retired. I enjoyed the job. I miss the camaraderie with my fellow officers the most. It takes a special person with inner strength and wanting to be an important asset to protect the public. You have to be in it for more than mere money. Saying that, doesn't mean you have to act like a complete ignorant fool that doesn't know what is really going on. To deny it means you're ignorant of the truth, just an ass kisser; or like most of us, overlook it and make the best out of it. I made the best out of it. Happily retired now. My dark humor has also been helpful for me for decades. You may of noticed. People with their hurt little feelings on their shirtsleeves are hilarious. Quit taking everything so serious. It affects your stress level. Thick skin and dark humor helps. That way it backfires on the deliverer instead. Very many complain about an issue but very few seek to do anything about it so to make positive change. I've always been one to not only talk the talk but also walk the walk. That's why after I retired, I joined two separate class action lawsuits going on by ex and retired correctional officers against the state of NC for unpaid wages and the gap pay scam. The NC state government doesn't feel you deserve a full check. Greed is their God. "By their fruits you shall know them." This same scam was beat in three other southern states. I ALWAYS read everything before I sign. That's the ONLY reason I knew of the gap pay scam. The in processing staff INTENTIONALLY don't tell you that you will be signing away your first hours of overtime into straight time. Seen that first hand. I worked 12 years and retired at 60. During that 12 years service, I asked literally dozens of correctional officers, did they know they were signing away their overtime. NOT ONE bothered to read what they were signing. You reap what you sow. Signing that paper removes liability from the state. That is why the lawsuits aren't working; even with the milicious intent to deceive by the state. But, I wanted the early retirement and got it. Mission accomplished. The sweet icing on the cake is it costs the state hundreds of thousands of dollars fighting the lawsuits on their obvious white collar corruption, while having to send me my retirement check every month. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. I can look in the mirrow and respect the man in the mirrow for trying to bring a financially positive change for the correctional officers of North Carolina. They deserve nothing less. 🇺🇸

I was forced to take an implant at 316 east chestnut st Louisville ky in July of 2012 at the ccc jail by a nurse named Diane Hurstbourne after seeing Edd Hurstbourne using the equipment in the the same jail to torture someone. I've been a test subject or (TARGETED INDIVIDUAL) for the last 8 years, receiving voice to skull and remote Neural Monitoring from Darla Hurstbourne and her twin brother jason Hurstbourne. He has be known to perform oral sex on the inmates to make friends and hire them to help. I have an x ray showing the chip in Louisville. I moved out of ky to avoid being set up by the Louisville Metro Police Department. If your from Louisville you know what I'm talking about....fake cia training center. I know the name of the tech that updated the system in the basement(braingate system) help me put a stop to this inhumane testing and torture. I have the chip, I have an x ray. I eyewitnesseed the braingate system being used. My family and friends as well as councilors believe me. I have called the police departments. (LMPD and Sheriff) as well as the ombudsman. They all know what I'm talking about, but it's out of their jurisdiction. It's corrections jurisdiction. They never answer the phone. Ever.
