Thinking about getting a G22 and I keep coming back to this video - that track has totally grown on me - can I find it anywhere?

Hi Chris, sorry for late reply. Thank you! Unfortunately not, it's not public yet, but it has grown on me as well so I will release on Spotify soon. I let you know!!

Great demo. I've been playing with the idea with either a Manley Vari Mu and the Gyraf G22. I'm still struggling to make a decision which one. The G22 really seems to reach into the music like the Manley but has a slightly different vibe. Have you tried both?

Thank you! Yes I have used both. Manley Vari Mu is excellent as well, however if I have to chose one, I prefer Gyraf G22. Sound wise I guess you could describe Gyraf as more warm, tape-ish and a big soundstage. Also you get M/S compression and variable link function. I guess I could have showed you the variable link mode more, but it is great and quite unique. I would describe Manley as more mid-rangey and classic rock-sound/presence. Great though!

@@callewac Thanks. Fantastic. Warm, tape-ish and 3d sound stage is exactly what I am after. The m/s option is very handy as well. Do you have any issues with bass heavy material with the hp sidechain filter at 85hz? Or do you find it works well. I'm asking as I work mostly on bass heavy masterial.

@@MonkeyMarc I have no issues with bass heavy material, it works really well. Except with very clean and punchy EDM, but I wouldn't use a vari-mu type compressor on mixbus for EDM anyways, that is wrong type of compression in my opinion, better stick to a VCA compressor like RND MBP II in that case. But Gyraf works great for EDM synth bus instead.

manley vari-mu isn't for something fast paced dynamics which means it's not so reference for the modern music. if you want the manley sound in your music but still want a vari-mu comp, the manley nu mu will do the job for you.
