Palm West CC is a great church to celebrate our Savior. People are warm and friendly. Sermons well prepared and delivered. Music always great. Located in Sun City West.
I watched all of today's service - very interesting, could have been preached in our own Seventh Day Adventist church - but sorry to criticize, but in regards to the Sabbath, God did not specify "A" day, but very specifically, instructed us to "REMEMBER THE SEVENTH DAY" - it is not a day we can freely choose to change to fit OUR delights or social whims, but a very specific day to honor God as our creator, and the creator of everything. I can "observe" my wife's birthday on August 3 if I choose - but fact is - and important to HER, is that I remember that her REAL birthday is on November 12. God has specified a SPECIFIC day and method to honor Him and his creation - and NONE of us created by Him has power or authority to whimsically change it to some other day that "suits" our choice or method of lifestyle better. To do so, is to set ourselves up as God - and indeed, SUPERIOR to God - in regards to the ONE, and SINGLE command above all others that HE said we are to "Remember". The 7th day Sabbath was created ON the 7th day, and Adam and Eve were the first humans to observe it, LONG before there was a Jewish/Izreal nation. God commanded the Sabbath to be remembered and reverenced as His day of rest - NOT the Sunday in memorial of Jesus' resurrection! Nor is Sunday - the first day of the week EVER mentioned as memorialized by either Christ, his disciples, or represented as such in any Biblical chapter or verse. There is a very specific reason why "Protestant" churches observe Sunday instead of Saturday - and that reason is because the Roman Catholic church indeed DID claim to be superior to God, and changed their observance of 7th day Sabbath to Sunday - and in spite of early reformers like Martin Luther and many other later major reformers - who claimed to follow "the Bible only", but then carried with them from Catholicism, the observance of Sunday instead of the Biblical 7th day Sabbath. The Catholic Church has LONG laughed at "Protestant" - "Bible only" Christian denominations due to their continued observance of a Catholic, non-Biblical day of rest. And they have long claimed of Sunday keeping "Protestant" denominations - since they are still observing the Catholic false Sabbath, are really at heart still Catholics - and should formally admit that fact, and return to the "mother Church". And that re-joining of Protestant Denominations back into the Catholic church is already well under way. But thanks for the sermon - it's always interesting to view other Spiritual viewpoints or theories - some of those views strengthen my own - or sometimes challenge me to review them in another light. And I hope you can accept my comments as being offered in non-offensive respectful and friendly intent. For sure, *I* can use all the help I can get where Spirituality is concerned.
I was ready to quit. Thank you for this message.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
