Climbing Kearney Falls, Cairns North Queensland
After a disastrous attempt of the last upload, having cooked my hard drive here's the latest off track adventure second edit! These are bloody time consuming edits and to have to re do the whole video honestly gave me the shits. Anyways here it is....
The beautiful Kearny Falls in all its glory. This little adventure is in the ever gorgeous Goldsborough Valley home of the Malanbarra Yidinji and Dulabed mob. Wilderness abounds in this area and although it is only a 45 minute drive from Cairns it feels super remote.
The march flies were in force on this day cementing the change of seasons to the oppressive summer months, though it didnt damper the afternoons adventure to the top of the falls.
This hike is extremely dangerous in wet conditions so please dont attempt this in inclement weather as you may die.
Enjoy the video guys....

Backyard Adventure part 2!
มุมมอง 2056 หลายเดือนก่อน
It's been over a year since the last mission up the valley at the back of the property. Every day I have stared at the mountain and wondered what lay beyond the last off track adventure. In true off track fashion a great mate and myself pushed up into the pristine wilderness to find out! We trekked up as far I felt the need and marvelled at the nature laid out before us. Such untouched and rare...
Remote coastal hike through Gunggandji country. Cairns, North Queensland
มุมมอง 42511 หลายเดือนก่อน
Remote is quite the understatement on this hike through the coastal mountain ranges south of cairns overlooking the beautiful coral sea. My legend of a brother offered to be taxi and done the drop off and pick up in his tinny for which is the only way to access this remote beautiful valley. Through minimal resaerch I actually never found the name of the valley. It is in Madingalbay Yidinji-Gung...
The forgotten valley
มุมมอง 339ปีที่แล้ว
"Green like you've never seen" comes to mind on this beautiful hike through the moss riddled Madjanydji country, in the Wooroonooran National Park. The old twisted and battered giant Golden Penda's line the way through the clear turquoise waters of the valley with uncountable cascades and pools to climb and swim. This certainly was worth the wait, being over 20 years between hikes of this area ...
Kayaking the pristine Mulgrave river, Cairns North Queensland
มุมมอง 903ปีที่แล้ว
Today was a bit different to the usual river gorge hiking and we mixed it up with a kayaking adventure with family and friends on the beautiful Mulgrave river. Pristine is a word that come to mind when describing its wild beauty. We set off at the top camp ground in Goldsborough valley and proceeded to kayak the untouched wilderness through Yidinji country, lands of the Dulabed and Malanbarra p...
Port Douglas’s hidden gem! Spring creek falls
มุมมอง 1.2Kปีที่แล้ว
Just the drive from Cairns to the start point on spring creek, a tributary of the Mowbray river, is worth the day trip. The great coastal road over looking the coral sea with the great dividing range bursting out of the ocean just spectacular in its own right. We hiked up through chabbuki (Tjapukai) country on this adventure through the lands of the Yirrganydji (Irrukandji) mob to the great Spr...
The hidden jungle gorges of josephine falls creek

Josephine Falls, one of Australias most picturesque swimming holes was just the starting point for our offtftrack hiking adventure this time round. An absolutely beautiful hike from start to finish! Ancient forests, waterfalls, gorges and some of the most pure water you will ever see glints in your eye as you pass through this stunningly beautiful part of world. About an hour south of Cairns is...
The backyard adventure!

After a six month hiatus with a ruptured ankle, a new baby and a new farm to tend to we're back with a little adventure in the backyard following a little creek up the mountain behind my new property. Bit of a dream come true scenario acquiring a little hobby farm like this. Pristine world heritage rainforest with pure water you can drink straight out of the creek, waterfalls, caves and massive...
Hiking the remote valley of Green Cliff Falls, Part 2
มุมมอง 9703 ปีที่แล้ว
Welcome back to the epic adventure of Hiking the remote valley of Green Cliff Falls, part 2. This episode follows on from our previous rest point the East Mulgrave falls. From here on we pushed further. higher into the valley and as always the higher the elevations the more spectacular the scenery and fauna and flora becomes. As we reached higher into the remote wilderness, the weather and dayl...
Hiking the remote valley of Green Cliff Falls, part 1
มุมมอง 1.2K3 ปีที่แล้ว
It doesn't get much more remote than this. Green Cliff Falls on the East Mulgrave river is elusive at best. Out of 4 attempts to make the falls I've only achieved it once. On this attempt we actually never made it but it didn't matter as the footage will show! This hike may be achieved from the Babinda side of the Goldfields Trail, but we like to do things the hard way here at Off Track Adventu...
The greatest short hike in Australia! Barron falls base hike full flood!
มุมมอง 8K3 ปีที่แล้ว
The greatest most epic short hike in Australia, Barron falls base hike in full flood is not for the faint of heart! I've been hiking this trail every year whilst flooding for over a decade now and have nick named it "the annual pilgrimage". For a hike of this calibre to be only a short half hour drive from Cairns it truely shows far north Queensland is the mecca for waterfall hikes in the count...
Playground of Fishery Falls

Another beautiful hike through the waterways of fishery creek to the wonderful fishery falls. Culminating in a good old fashioned counter meal and a cold beer at the Fishery Falls hotel and only 45 minute scenic drive south of cairns.
The flourishing forest of frenchmans creek

Beautiful short hike up frenchmans creek, completely untouched pristine forest and some of the purest water in Australia. Just another spectacular creek walk in the cairns region. Enjoy.
Petes falls adventure, Cairns North Queensland.
มุมมอง 8733 ปีที่แล้ว
The beautiful petes falls. Just note the farmer that owns the access point to this hike has closed the path so to acheive the petes falls experience you must now use the poorly marked track from fossicer cl in goldsborough valley estate. we nearly got lost on this hike, over shot the turn off to the falls up stream by a kilometer and walked out on dark! Ended up being a true off track adventure!

Ah such a big adventure, went up there last year too. Pushed it to the big one that was in the drone footage three waterfalls further from where you guys turned around, only to find a single pink tape up there. Wasn’t fun coming back barely had time to stop for a breather. 😮‍💨 also found a sleeping bag rotting away in the bush up there I wonder if it came down from the top of Bartle Frere? Definitely not an easy hike with extra gear.

Steepest hill to get over into this valley in summer. But best colour water ive seen. Blow flies ruined it tho.

When I was young, I used to hike up the creeks around Babinda, I was climbing up a waterfall at Josephine Falls, when I slipped and fell, and injured my spine. It took another fall down a waterfall at Barron Gorge before I gave up climbing them! Those falls plus a bad fall off a horse are what have contributed to the problems I now have with my spine, and why I can hardly walk these days!
