Yeah, the only reason for the station there is that there was already a commuter rail station before this new one. Unfortunately, I'm not expecting any density at all to be built nearby..

Yep, mountain explosions, worker shortages, supply chain issues, COVID, Quebec's terrible construction industry, and many other factors all combine.......I'll take the delay if it means a safe and efficient system though

I would agree if it were any other mall, but I am glad to see the a massive gap in Montreal's luxury market filled. Plus, I'm expecting residential and office space in the next few years, as well as an aquarium, so it serves many purposes and is less susceptible to dying. I'm more worried about sucking shoppers out of Downtown than anything

Yeah, definitely not ideal, but the whole neighborhood is within a 15 minute walk of the station and I believe there are some planned residential projects on land currently held by companies adjacent to the parking lot.....

@@themontrealguy471 the surface parking lots on prime real estate around TOD stations seems to be a REM thing... Given the real estate branch of CDPQ, I would have assumed that they'd develop it (and move the parking either underground or to designated park and ride stations outside the TODs)

Considering Sainte-Dorothee already had a bus terminal connecting routes to the whole west half of Laval and the dire need for a metro-like service in the Deux-Montagnes, Saint-Eustache area, I think they made the right decision. A place like central Laval deserves the actual Metro as condos go up everywhere and the connection would be much easier. Carrefour Laval already has a nice terminus to serve as a Metro station so get on with it already!

Even as an anglo, I prefer Reseau Express Metropolitain over Metropolitain Express Network.....would be a good joke if realized though

@@CNSPORTZEDITZ they say 2025 and insiders state that the earliest possible is May 2025 but im expecting a midsummer opening

The bridge linking Ile-Bigras to Pierrefonds is newly constructed (the old rail bridge remains untouched) but the bridge linking Laval to Deux Montagnes has been retrofitted from the old bridge.
