Trying International Non-Alcoholic Beers for the 1st time
In today’s video I finally get around to trying some International non-alcoholic beers for the first time. I have been wanting to try these beers for a while now as I work in a bottle shop and often get asked about non-alcoholic beer, so I am expanding my beer knowledge so I can recommend good beer to my customers.
I also then crack the Heaps Normal Quiet XPA to have a drink and a chat about the non-alcoholic craft beer that I believe really kicked off the non-alcoholic craft beer scene here in Sydney.
Thanks for watching,

Excellent review Boydo, going to have to give the Asahi & Erdinger a try. I think I would drink more non alcoholic beer if it was more reasonably priced. At $45-$50 a case of 24 it just seems to expensive for me as its very close to the alcohol beer prices. Surely there is no alcohol tax on these products so can’t understand why they are so expensive.
Great video, mate. I can’t speak with much authority on this topic as like you, zero alcohol beer doesn’t excite me at all. In fact, I did the same thing as you with the Weihenstephaner (but I got the Hefeweizen) but never got around to drinking it. The lack of body in zero alcohol beers is what I really struggle with. The Erdinger sounds promising though. Cheers!
Y'all need Jesus. Non alcoholic beer contains traces of alcohol and if you're an AA member then you should avoid this, as well as avoiding Listerine
Righteo haha
I took a similar tasting journey a couple of months ago. I agree with your choice of Asahi and Erdinger, but I also found Peroni 0.0 to be quite palatable. I guess we are all different at the end of the day. I think this was one of your best reviews. Including a wider range of products makes the comparison more interesting and useful.
Thoughts on your mates beers?]
nice one Boydo!
Cheers mate!
Non alcoholic beer, like wearing a condom while sleeping alone.
👍
Or like paying child support for a child that isn't yours
Holy shit hahaha
Cans are always preferable for green bottled brews. I think Dan's had that Radler for a brief while a few years back.
Yep no skunkiness in a can! Ah interesting about the Radler, cheers mate!
Great video. There's always treasures to be found at those independent bottle shops. I was surprised that the sour beer was actually decent.
Cheers Swill! Yep how good is an independent bottle shop! Yeah I was shocked I enjoyed the sour!
I can't stand coopers beer. I used to drink it often, the longnecks were my go to, I would enjoy one after work occasionally. It has grainy sediment which is really awful. it seems to give me a headache and hangover when I drink it as well, so I don't think it's fermented very well, maybe more methanol than it should have. I wanted to like coopers beer but after drinking it for a while I just can't stand it anymore. baffles me how universally praised it gets. I think patriotism biases people a bit since its the only major australian owned brewer. Just my opinion :) if you really like it you do you.
Both great beers Boydo, can’t go wrong with these two. Viva Italia!
Haha cheers Giuseppe! Beautiful Italia drops!
It's still a good drink, but it definitely doesn't taste the same as the Dublin, or even the old Park Royal, brewed Guinness. I assume that Lion follow the exact recipe and processes so whether it's different barley, different water I don't know, but it's not as creamy and it's slightly more bitter tasting.
I just watched your other Bintang video as my intro to your channel, where you mentioned you hadn't been to Bali in over 10 years, and it made me sad to hear. So awesome and gratifying to see you back there on such a beautiful island, sinking multiple bintangs. Loving the content. Going to watch your Malaysia video next. Cheers from perth!!
Hey mate, thank you for watching my videos, glad you enjoy them! It was so lovely being back in Bali, thanks again, cheers!
Melbourne bitter for me. The other day in Melbourne it was about 39° and went down beautifully, didnt touch the sides. It's as old as VB or near to. Great Australian beers both of them. 🇦🇺 🇦🇺 🇦🇺
Go for the NEIPA / IPA ones . So many options there! Great video man! Next time get 10 different Craft beers and go crazy! 🍻🫂🤜🤛
Went on the Fairstar back in the late 80's, don't remember much of it (haha) to drunk. Back then you just paid cash for drinks, super cheap with no tax. Hope you enjoyed your holiday. Cheers.
Yeah I get ya! Easy to be drunk on these cruises haha cheers mate!
Really enjoy your video's and this was another great one. I think I might take some inspiration from you and go out in the open and do a review. Cheers.
Yeah mate cheers! Would love to see you do a video out and about in the open! Make it happen!
Stout is the one brew you could take alcohol out and make no difference. It’s utterly foul either way.
Nahhh stouts are amazing! Haha
@ fair enough. I guess I could never get the taste for them. Like porter tho. Great vid btw
@@warriorpoet9629 yeah they grow on you! Thank you 🙏
Hi from Ireland 🇮🇪 😊 there's a new thing in Ireland called nitrosurge if you google it. It's an attachment that goes on the cans, but people rarely drink Guinness from a can here it's mostly on draft. Everyone says it tastes differently here, but i dont drink it. I'm more a red wine kinda girl. When it's poured here, the glass is tilted, and the guinness is poured at an angle 😊
Hey there! Thanks for the comment! Yes I have seen the Nitrosurge on other people TH-cam channels, it looks really good, I haven’t seen it here for sale in Australia but I am very keen to give it a try! I also can’t wait to try my first Guinness in Ireland if I ever get there! Hope I do! I love a glass of red myself, nice one! Thank you
Great vid boydo!!
Thank you very much!
I feel like outdoing you and finding righteous spots to smoke pip
Hahaha go for it! Let’s see what you got!
Awesome video, mate. I’ve tried the festbier from Range that you spotted in the craft fridge and it’s a pretty good beer. They do a Hefeweizen and that’s nice too. Good job on the sour. It took me a long time to learn to appreciate them but now I’m a massive convert. They’re often very refreshing and Berliner Weiss beers are traditionally lower in ABV, so they are a great summer lunchtime option. That Peroni looks like an absolute treat. Cheers!
Cheers hef!! I think I need to try that Festbier by Range brewing then! Oh and their Hefeweizen! Yeah Sours I think I need to give a proper chance! Still not sure on them as they are so far from a nice malty beer but they can be enjoyed in the right environment as you say a great summertime option! Cheers mate!
Always so interesting to see the beer selection in different shops around the world. I saw that you can get Menebrea there! That's a favorite of Alessandro's. He's back home in Italy now for a few weeks and has been drinking that almost exclusively. I've heard good things about Peroni red too.
Yes I love seeing the beer selections in bottle shops from different countries! Glad you enjoyed that part! That’s so cool Alessandro is back home drinking Menebrea! Such a great drop! Cheers lads!
This is very entertaining TV thank you BWBoydo. Your girlfriend has a very interesting name @18.10. Keep up the good work.
Cheers mate! Appreciate it!
Great video Boyd 👏
Thanks Britt!! Cheers
❤love Wham playing on the background 🎉
Ha ha how good!!
What a proud moment for your mother finding out her son was the local bum in The Shire drinking in the park 😂
Ha ha what a way to find out! Cheers mum!!
Cheers boydo enjoy stay solid frosty🎉😊
Cheers mate! Appreciate it!
A 3.5% white wine is hard work in my opinion but much love to the craftsmen. You could also branch out to good value, imported wine reviews. The birds at Dan Murph have always been happy to guide me
Not sure about that first one Boydo but like your idea to get out of your comfort zone and try some new beers. I have tried that Peroni and it is a cracker. Looks like you enjoyed it as well. I thought you might have been from The Shire when I first started watching your videos. Are you enjoying the Eastern Suburbs? I am in the hills district about 40km from the city. Who knows maybe one day we can catch up for a beer together as we have a similar interest and are both in Sydney.
Get durnk mate ✌️
Haha cheers!
Where does a bush beer rank in comparison to an airport beer and a shower beer?
Second in line after the airport beer, gosh would have to be a tie with the shower beer!
Awesome review as always Boydo. I have been a VB drinker for over 20 years. Gets the job done and still one of the cheapest beers (well no beer is cheap these days) at $60 a case for a 30 can pack. At $2 a can I think it’s ok value.
Hey Giuseppe! Yeah at $2 a can that’s pretty damn good these days! Cheers mate! Nice to hear you like your VB! I do love it off tap in a pub!
Took them 4 years to develop their 0.0. Love Guinness 0.0 and it competes well with the awesome Deschutes NA black Butte...both are my go to ports.
Cheers mate!
Need to do a blind test. Biased otherwise
Yeah fair point but the flavour really speaks for itself blindfolded or not
The first drink of an ice cold guiness should be a massive gulp
True that! Split the G!!
Hi, fun videos mate, did you notice if they still have the original classic Steinlager over there? I remember enjoying those. They stopped selling it in Australia around 10 years ago and replaced it with that Steinlager Pure which is utter skunky crap.
Hey mate. Thank you! I did drink two Steinlager over there, both the classic, the first was so skunky it was so bad and the second was absolutely delightful!
Cheers for reply, I just don't get why breweries use green or clear glass to ruin a perfectly good beer with.
@ I know! They do look more appealing but it’s not worth ruining the beer over!
Corona brewed in China, this is so wrong on so many levels. Detailed review as always mate.
Ha ha I reckon! Cheers mate!
yes boydo. can we have some english beer reviews
Send me some!
Weihenstephaner is fast becoming my favourite German beer after discovering it after watching your channel Boydo. What a gem of a beer. Nice find mate.
Nice one mate! Which ones have you tried by them so far? I love this!!!
@@BeersWithBoydo thanks for the reply. So far tried the Pils and Baysrich Dunkel. Going to pick up a few Weisbeer to try today.
@ good one! Enjoy my friend! Try and get the Helles! You need to go to First Choice liquor for that though!
Great video, mate. I’ve never been to Bali but I have tried Bintang and Bintang Crystal. The radler sounds interesting. When I went to Vanuatu a few years ago I discovered that their national brewery (Tusker) brews a lemon radler too. Like the Bintang, it was heavy on the lemon but from memory, it was still 5%. It’s not something we see much here but like you said, it might be a decent option for a lunchtime beer. Cheers!
Cheers hef! Interesting! Love it mate!
Seems a bit redundant to write "non alcoholic 0.0"
"Non - Alcoholic" is marketed as "no more than 0.5% ALC" Thus, 0.0 is ZERO Alcohol, and is technically not a beer at all.
I've been to the brewery in Dublin. It's worth a visit.
I would love to go one day! Big dream of mine!
Looked like a great spot for a beer. Loving those high aerial shots. Good stuff Boydo.
Cheers mate! This was a fun one to film and make!
now a a non drinker non alcoholic beers are a waste of time because to give up drinking you need to lose the taste of beer and the habit of drinking which means not drinking non alcoholic anything.
Yeah fair call! But still beneficial for people who may want to drive or cut down on alcohol!
Great idea for a video Boydo. Not only did you help clean up the environment but you also earned a few bucks from return & earn. Beaches look really good, we are so lucky to live here in Sydney.
Hey mate! Ha ha yeah this was a fun one to do whilst cleaning up some rubbish! Oh yeah the beaches here in Sydney are so good!! Cheers Giuseppe!
Going to keep my eyes peeled for this one. Another great review mate.
Generally sold in First Choice Liquor bottle shops! Get one ASAP! Cheers mate!
What a great idea for a bottle top. Looked super easy to open and no bottle opener with a handful of keys required. Another awesome review mate.
Cheers Guiseppe! Thank you mate!
cheers. boydo. great video. enjoy the beers. have a good. one. frosty😁👌👍
Cheers Frosty! Thanks mate
Bruh bring me back a Bulls NBA singlet x
