@ririnaerlangga1649 go over wiring again, and make sure to follow the guide ultima gives you when you buy the system for hooking up their ignition and for timing it.
Great video. I've always wondered how those conversion kits work aside from how the 4 speeds function.
For adding the fork oil do you just pour it straight in? I am seeing fork oil measuring devices online but unsure if I need one. I would think just pouring in 6.5oz in the top tube and capping it off would be good? Thanks.
@RifeB6892 yea just pour it right in, just make sure you put in the right amount, any ol measuring cup will work
@@johnhalliday8462 Thank you! I just ordered a fork rebuild kit for my 82 XLH, along with Progressive suspension fork springs. I figured since I'm in there ill upgrade the springs to Progressive from Stock. I've heard decent reviews on the Progressive so we'll see.

The difference would be 6 inches From what ever yours are now. But to answer your question, they're 24 1/4"

I’ve had this kick kit , in my motorbike for about 15 years or so.. the problems I’ve had are the ramps aren’t angled high enough. So you have some clutch Issues to find the sweet spot to get it to release well. This is the biggest problem I had. Because then you have to keep it tighter and you burn out throw bearings. And the push rod becomes very hot. So you need to check and throw out bearings often. If you feel something strange. Also the long push rod. Best to buy old longer one. From a shovel . if I remember correctly. And cut it to size. I used a harden drillbit for a while to get the extension I needed. And I grind the end, so they were rounded. And placed it in on the clutch side.. I was happy with it for a few years. Until I got a high-performance motor. And didn’t feel like kicking it anymore. it still looks cool. But I’m looking to go back to the stock one. Plus of course you need to be aware of your exhaust system. I have a two into one. Which is a Sampson , my thunderhead would hit. if you can find some hardened washers. Put one into the hole. Where the throwout bearing rod goes. The bearing will spin better. Just a trick that I found that worked better. I always had the idea to machine the throwout bearing 2 inch push rod. And find the super small bearing that would fit instead of the Harley roller bearing. Also the ramp. Is not the same as stock. As it is, got a little slice taken out of it.. this kit is the same as the “York “branded kit , so if you want replacement parts that are cheaper than the Ultima. You can look it up. Good luck with this piece of junk , also just tilt the bike and lead it against the wall. And wait five minutes you don’t have to drain the fluid.
Ever see an Ultima 53-644 preset from factory that static times to the advance marks not tdc?

2003 883 with hammer 1250 status light comes at the 2 dots not tdc. Runs fine but wtf?

Well, it's preset from factory so maybe it's about 8 degrees from the 20 degree marks

You would think but it is not.
I tried to install the same kit on my 1995 Heritage Softail and it did not work. The clutch ball ramp was always pulled forward and I knew the rod was too short. Did you have to change the clutch cable as well? If so, what did you use and who did you get it from? I knew the push rod was an issue as well. How did you determine you needed the 11 3/8" extended center clutch push rod and who did you get it from? Good video. I wish I had found it before I returned the kit. I think it is a desecent kicker. Too bad the instructions do not inform people what else is needed to make the kit work correctly. After watching your video I am tempted to buy another one.
So we learned the hard way when we had no response from the clutch we new something was up so with some trouble shooting we realized it was too short, for a temporary fix we made one out of a steel rod until we were able to purchase one from the local bike shop, we did not have to change the cable, but the whole side of the kick mechanism had to be dismantled to attach the cable.
