I would start by going to the facebook toybox group. It was super helpful to me when I first got started. Now I hardly use my toybox at all. It's still a cool little machine, but i have since upgraded to a Bambu Labs A1 (not the mini, but the full size version). Compared to the old toybox this machine is much more automatic (no need to gut the excess before printing, the printer does this for you and can print up to 4 colors at once with the AMS lite). I do understand that toybox has come out with new models this year and maybe they have more features like the bambu, but now that I have the A1 I don't have a reason to look into it. Check out the Toybox facebook group for more info on your specific file to see if others have had similar problems, that group will also surely have a lot of info on the new printers. Yes, I would reccomend a 60 inch snow plow on the 450. We put a 72 inch plow on the 550, but that may be too heavy for the 450.

That is a box store model. They have not released the dealer version of that model yet. When they do, I am assuming it will have some upgrades that the box store doesn't (just like they did with the Stryker 550X). My guess is it will be called a Stryker 750X.

I know you posted this question a long time ago, some how I missed it. Hopefully you have found a resolution by now. If not, open a ticket with Toybox customer service. Also reach out to the Toybox group on facebook they may have some pointers on diagnosing the issue.

Mine makes a lot of noise and I would say that is normal. Excessive grinding is not. The first thing I would make sure is that the black cable at the top of the machine is not bound up inside the frame of the machine. It needs to be on the outside top so it can move freely. If that doesn't fix the problem I would suggest joining the Toybox 3d printing community on facebook. Once joined, Upload a video of what your machine is doing and ask the group. They are super helpful and will likely identify the problem or let you know if it is a normal operating noise.

I would agree that there are great options outside the toy box app that can be uploaded into the app. We don't buy bolts. But we do subscribe to the Toybox Plus subscription. It is $10 a month. You get one unlock credit per month, exclusive prints and some extra bolts. I haven't found the need to buy additional bolts. For $10 a month the exclusives have been fun for us and the kids. But your point is taken, we likely won't do the subscription for long. We have only paid for it for 2 months so far.
