What style of banjo playing do you do? It sounds like you're playing a guitar fingerstyle you've adjusted for the banjo, but I'm not sure. On some of your other videos it sounds almost like Pete Seeger's up-picking style, but not quite exactly the same. It sounds good, whatever it is.
@@jamesrodriquez2863 it is sort of a guitar hybrid picking pattern. I learned guitar first so it is taking me a bit to learn to play it correctly. 😅 I am alternating the 5th and 4th strings like you would the base notes on the guitar but starting with the bass string on the banjo.
@@jarodcross5792 There really is no "correct" way of playing the banjo. There are several different styles, but the important thing is that how you play sounds good and works for you. Fingerstyle guitar playing transfers over to banjo just fine. Keep up the good playing!
@jamesrodriquez2863 thank you.
This was nice to hear. I reminds me of the kind of songs my grandfather would sing to himself while he went about his chores. He lived to be 93, I wish i recorded him more. I can only imagine how much music died with him and his generation. (He was raised Anglican in Newfoundland, before we joined Canada)
@@lifefordummies I still remember old Jimmy Rodgers songs my great grandpa would sing. It's wonderful you have those memories and you should hold those close to your heart. Thank you.
Great job man keep it up! Such a good song
Agree mostly with my experience as a deconverted, but at least in my hood the Salvation Army literally feeds anyone who wants food every day. They don’t do what I read they did back in the day, marching with pop tunes and changing lyrics to “you’re a sinner” etc. from the history books it sounds like they operated a bit like the westboro baptists in the early days, and they seem to be a property empire nowadays, but at least they actually feed people. I do think it’s bad taste when I see them on the big drinking nights in town handing out sausage sizzles in white bread, like guys that’s the most low nutrition low effort food possible, at least the Krishna freaks make really nice food. Great tune tho
Great tune man. I always feel long necks all need a bigger pot. The proportions look funny lol there awesome though
@@whiskymylove I love the key of E so I couldn't resist. Lucky my arms are long enough. 😂
As a Christian this is the kind criticism that Christianity needs. Thank you for playing it. Don't mourn, organize!
THATS A LIE! 😂❤
Nice playing, nicer vocals.
Man and guitar. Don't get no better than this. Great job, Dan Seals would be proud.
you have great skinny long fingers Jarod. That stretch on the B is impossible for me to reach in that position. great job brother thank you
Nice cover, how do you mute the rest of the strings when playing?
@@gijsdvries6601 using the side of the palm of my hand. Just below the pinky. You just barely touch the strings so that they still ring out a bit.
@@jarodcross5792thanks for the reply bro. What about the part at 2:14? It looks like your strumming all the strings but you only hear a few
Beautiful voice!
Well done 👍

Wonderful!!!
Wow... first time I heard a cover I actually liked. Well done, seriously! Jim Crice was amazing. One of my musical heroes.
Wow❤
Well done!
Thanks Jarod. I'm gonna learn this - a bad pinky reach or two tho. Jim Croce is smiling down, with his cigar and glass of bourbon, and a sh eating grin.
Thank you.
Pretty good! 3:00 ❤
