Hi Alex.Thank you for taking time to watch our video.. There’s no such thing as an off-road pass it's a scam. Don't pay anyone claiming otherwise. When you do game drives with Oltepesi, they have great connections within the Mara and can take you to the best spots for photographing wildlife, depending on the sighting. Just be cautious of anyone promoting an 'off-road pass, it’s not legitimate. But As I know, Cinema crews like Nat Geo take filming passes from Kenya Wildlife or related authority, but that is very expensive..

@@Alex-iu8xx To be honest, we never paid anything extra for such permits, and Oltepesi never mentioned or offered them to us at any point. I even checked the brochure I received, and there's no mention of anything like that. If you have questions, the best people to reach out to are John Siololo or Arnfinn Johansen, the founders of Oltepesi. Im sure they will be able to help.

Thank you so much! Yes, for night safaris, you need to hire a guide and use a vehicle provided by the hotel where you're staying. Self-driving or going without a guide isn't allowed..
What is this waterfall ?
I was at the camp about three weeks ago and was there for ten days. I am a photographer who occasionally makes videos. Unfortunately, Big John was not there. I had a guide/driver named Odu who was excellent at positionally our vehicle for the best photography. He also gave us ample warning as to get ready for predation as he was familiar with animal behavior. We saw five predations. I opted out from staying all day in the Mara due to the heat and associated heat waves which will cause soft images. I spent the time downloading images and recharging the batteries. The vehicles have inverters so you can charge your equipment while it is running. The tent is rustic to say the least. It does have a western style flush toilet with wash basin. There is a shower. Tiny soap bars are provided as well as some type of hair shampoo. I used my own shampoo. Anthony and Ruth were very nice and helpful in the mess tent. You have access to the soft drinks like Coke, Red Bull and ginger ale. I thought the Coke tasted funny. Two others with me also thought it tasted a bit strange. You can drink beer and wine, but you need to pay for them. I did note that a bottle of beer will cost you four US dollars. Western style food was served and was very tasty. You have same day laundry service. My tent was located directly across the mess tent. The floor was a bit uneven but manageable. The hot water at night was scathing hot- be careful. By the next morning, the water was lukewarm. If I come back, I will definitely use this camp. Any serious photographer should consider coming here. This was my fourth safari, and it was the best one. I have been to Botswana& Zambia, Tanzania and Uganda. Having an experienced guide can make a big difference in getting "keepers."

How long was the hike to the lake and what time did you start the hike?
So we started the Hike around 3.30pm.. and we came to the camping site in Lake Elice around 8.30pm..Almost around 5 hours ☺️
What's the name of the cat please? And where is it found in?
Hi.. This is a Caracal.. You can find them in Amboseli and Masai Mara... But this beautiful sighting is from Samburu..

This thing of the park being in the city is just blown out of proportion. It is nothing special. First of all, it is on the edge of the city, not in the middle. And it is just a big zoo.
Thanks for sharing your opinion! While it's true that Nairobi National Park is on the edge of the city, the proximity to a major urban center is what makes it so unique. How many places in the world allow you to see lions, rhinos, and giraffes just minutes from a bustling city? It’s this quick escape into nature that gives Nairobi a special charm. Regarding your zoo comment, I believe how we treat and respect the animals plays a big role in shaping our experience. Nairobi National Park is a natural habitat where wildlife roams freely, and every visit is an opportunity to witness that raw beauty. Of course, everyone’s perspective is valid, but I hope the park continues to be valued for the amazing sanctuary it provides. Thanks for watching!
