I really like the Ally Sloper run - Alan taking a risk with new material rather than just re-printing US comics - it's a shame it didn't work - I think it was too backward looking rather than publishing more of the "modern" comic talent that was around at the time.

I loved Garth. It was published in Portugal in the CM newspaper when I was a kid, but it also appeared in the Mundo de Aventuras comic anthology in the 60s and 70s. Although it was less classic, I always preferred the Frank Bellamy version.

GREAT books as usual Ken, yes I love those Ally Sloper mags so happy to see you highlight them, looking forward to the new format, have yourself a great week mate.

Sooo true, as you look at the black and white pages in the Alan Class issues (with nothing marred by colour), it certainly gives a clearer indication between Ditko and Kirby’s techniques. Wonderful! Definitely gives more appreciation of those two greats (even more). CT scan went fine, just awaiting the results of my PSA test and then a few weeks later the CT scan. Onwards and upwards 😃 Have a great weekend, Rob.

Hi Ken, great selection again mate, yeah I think when you look at the evolution of the Kirby artwork compared to the evolution of Ditko over the years the main factor for me is that Kirby had lots of different inkers with their own style where Ditko did a large percentage of his own inking , have yourself a good weekend mate , hope everything went well with the scan etc this week and looking forward to next week with great anticipation after that teaser.

Another Classy video Ken ( pun intended 😀), yes like you say there was always something about the Alan Class books that made it worth the entrance fee, sorry to hear about your struggles with the blood sugar mate, it's something I have to watch like a hawk myself in fact I am sat here with my reading glasses watching this on the tablet, anyway Ken have a good weekend mate .
