Why a mini van ? The length of ( back door to front. ) 8 foot ?
It’s the only vehicle I had at the time. it’s about 8ft.
Have you run into any issues with running the cables from the panel to the inside of your van like that? Does the door crimp them at all when it closes? I would much prefer setting mine up like this vs. punching a hole in the roof to run the cables in.
It was a simple process. I ran the cables along the door frame. The trunk door closes fine.
Nice and simple! I am working on outfitting my 2014 right now. I'm trying to set it up so I can put one of the middle seats back in for our daughter if we need to use my Odyssey for a family trip. I left the smaller 3rd row seat in because it seems like it will work well for having a place to sit and work on my laptop or whatever. I took out both middle row seats and the larger of the 3rd row. I am trying to leave the back storage space available for gear, as well as the hidden spare wheel well. The floor of these versions of Odyssey are uneven and make figuring out a floor a little bit of a challenge, mostly in terms of how to anchor things down using the brackets that the seats hook into. These setups really evolve with use, and there is no one size fits all option, at least not for those of us on a budget. It's best not to rush anything or you end up doing things over, which is OK too. Patience is required. What I enjoy most is the process, and trying ideas out without feeling like I have to do this a certain way. All the ideas people have on TH-cam can become overwhelming. One must really be willing to step back and let the design emerge organically. It's OK if one idea doesn't work out, it will lead to those that do. The point is to try, and not get frustrated because the result doesn't look exactly like someone else's idea. Thanks for sharing yours!

How do you keep the bed cushions from sliding all over/out from under you?

Since it’s cold out, you should have your weather tech coverings turned in the other direction so the car absorbs heat. Shiny silver only out when it’s hot to reflect away.
