      if you are a "car idiot" I definitely dont recommend these, as they will give you small troubles all the time (a couple of times not engaged in gears etc in my 13 years experience). If you kinda know what you are doing in terms of maintenance, they drive quite nice, if you maintain the transmission regularly. I never had anything major in the last 13 years.

      you are exactly right, it is very hard to diagnose and hard to fix too, everything is in a place that is not easily accessible. To be completely honest, when it works, this car drives quite nice, and EP6 engine is well designed. However when problem occurrs it is nightmare. I finally ended up getting a Lexia 3 scanner to get the problem sorted, and you are right, about 70 error codes in there and you never know which one really caused the problem! :)

    • @liyisu
      @liyisu ปีที่แล้ว

      It is actually quite complicated. I ended up buying a set of LEXIA 3 to diagnose it. In my case it is a turbo system leaking, resulting in the fan kicking in max speed. However, after my studies, I know a lot of faults could cause this. Without the LEXIA 3, it is really hard to pinpoint to the bottom of it. Unless you are an expert and can read from the data stream to know which part of it goes wrong. If the latter, you can use any scanner to read the engine running data, and draw your own conclusion. Otherwise, LEXIA 3 is the way to go for Citroen, Peugoet, and Fiat cars.

      The safe way is to measure the fluid that has been drained out in a measuring container. I measured mine it is 1.8 litres, but with all the unintentional losses (spills, splashes, residue, etc), I think 1.9l is the amount I would recommend. as of the viscosity itself, if you are from an area there is no big winter/summer temperature difference, you can use single grade ones like 75W. However I personally prefer multi grade ones. Please note that this vehicle specific, and it is for the 2012 model.

      checked F8, and checked a number of other fuses, all good.....nothing broken..... :( I suspect the one you are talking about is the electric pump that keeps the water running to cool turbo down? There are two pumps in these models, one main mechanical pump cooling the system when the engine is running, and one small electric pump, keeping the coolant flow in a low speed after you the turn the car off, to cool down the turbo system. Is this the one you talked about?

    Did you drain 1.9 litre oil in one go and then refilled with 1.9 litre? Did you reset or calibrate anything else so the car would act normal after the oil change? Was the old oil bad, did it look dark (after how many miles)? Was the oil change worth it, did you notice any difference, good or bad (slipping clutch)? Does the oil need to be at working temp when changing, around 60 degrees Celsius? Edit: reset and calibrate is for some automatic transmissions (not for this manual EGS).

    • @liyisu
      @liyisu 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      this one is different than an auto transmission, so there is no need to "drain as much as possible", basically when you undo the plug, it drains it all. I measured the fuild drained, it is 1.9l as per service manual. yes it was darker and no need to change it with warm engine (unlike engine oil), but warm engine is better as it make the fluid flow better. Its definitely worth it, you can feel the smoother gear change immediately after that.
