Voice problems? Fix THIS first…

Everyone wants a quick fix, but building and calibrating the laryngeal musculature takes time. If you’re building or re-training your technique, or you are having vocal issues and inconsistencies, it is important to understand that you must first address the SOURCE of the problem, which always stems from an imbalance or weakness in the laryngeal musculature. Of course, many side effects can hap...

Soprano development: then and now

Vocal growth…. Some thing that really hits me is the lens that we view ourselves in the present. Perfectionism persists as artists, and we are always trying to better ourselves but when we take a moment to stop and enjoy how far we have come in our journey, everything becomes very clear. Vocal growth doesn’t happen overnight and no amount of technical fixes will speed up the process. Consistent...

It does help.
I cannot do a liptrill...... help please!
Hi Julie! Do you know if this can also be applied to pop or musical theater singing?
It is helping me a lot to study 🙏🏼💖🎶👌🏿very beautiful voice ✨
What does your uvula look like?
By example, how should I sing this by Guns and Roses? "Shes got a smile that seems to me (no breath) reminds me of childhood mem-or-ees (breath) where everything was clear as the bright bule sky". Now i take that breath with a gasp. Any advice?
Yep! Got this. Weell, I understand this but doing it is another thing. This was easier to understand than Day 4. Thanks. And by the way, my thumb in my back was really getting pushed out
ok, Júlia, treinando isso!
Ok, praticando!
Obrigada! Excelente!
ok, obrigada!
Yay… at last a singing tutorial from a singer who has actually mastered voice! 🌷
My first lesson on the book, without you, I'd be damned, thysm miss julia❤❤❤❤
Can mewing affect your singing?
Ótimo! Obrigada!
Obrigada!
Excelente! Vou praticar! Obrigada!
Nossa! Que exercício excelente! Sua explicação realmente faz a diferença! Obrigada!
Feito! No 5:02 a chave que eu precisava! Obrigada, Júlia! Grande abraço pra você, do Brasil.
Feito!
Feito!
Feito!
Obrigada!
Excelente, obrigada Júlia, vou praticar bastante!❤
When we got to the beaker from the muppets / minnie voice i got depressed because i already have been doing that assuming it was a head voice thing and that means that's probably as high as i can go. Guess I'll never hit that Mike Patton whistle.
Ok, construindo apoio vocal! Obrigada!
Valeu, obrigada!
Feito!
Feito
Feito!

THIS WAS SO GOOD MY THROAT WAS SO BLOCKED THANKYOUUU <3
i haven’t commented yet, but i thought i should by now… i’ve been slowly working through these videos for the past few months as my voice is currently dropping, and this was suggested to help it during the change and stabilisation practice. I’m trying to preserve as much as my range as possible (whilst expanding where possible) and alongside the help with technique, this method has really helped! I definitely also feel that my voice is stronger and more stable now when singing. Thank you for this series, and I’ll be sure to check out your other videos on technique when I can!
Whoah. I don’t understand why, but I think that tip about switching between two vowels (ah-oh) on a trill might have done the trick for me! I’m a fairly experienced singer but after 15+ years of trying to trill, I had nearly given up. But a piece I’m working on now really requires a prolonged trill. Thank you!
Thank you Julia for your knowledge on fear based response!
Great info making sence of what’s going on !Big thank you 😊
how please??? this is my problem
Question for you! Do you have any videos doing opposite of this video? It appears I've been able to do the instructions of this video with ease, and I feel comfortable with my whistle register. I just recently enrolled in a voice program at school and I'm doing classical music. I'm having trouble accessing the same notes with my whistle register in my high head voice. I feel I'm able to go up to a Bb5 with my full head voice and after that I feel I just instantly flip into my whistle register instead of continuing my head voice. Do you have any videos for this or do you have tips for me?
Thank you Julia.
just watched one that said the opposite. it doesnt do it automatically - i dont know who to believe
I can't do it
Thank you!!
I'm a guy. I hit the seventh octive
Thank you soooo much 🙏🏻 You speak the truth and the video is really helpfull ❤
This is a great exercise, it instantly helped me find a bright and very loud resonance but I can only use this for closed vowels like oos and ees how do I open up my vowels without losing that bright beautiful resonance?
This is amazing!! Thank you
