:DDDDDDDDDD
so honest it’ll break your heart
“Number one asset, number one liability” lmao. keep up the good work man, you’re an incredible lyricist. Love KGW
How does this only have 84 likes
There. 85. I did something productive today.
What an amazing show, I really hope one day i can see kgw / graham smith live, SO AWSOME!!!
IF YOU LIKE FOOD FIGHTS- TRY DOIN IT IN THE MOONLIGHT
coming back to this for probably the dozenth time - NEVER DELETE THIS PLZ
I cant remember if I commented this or not but THANK YOU for writing Running from the Wind. I cried when I heard it the first time last year, and theres only a handful of songs that have affected me like that. It just brought so much out of me in a way that music rarely does these days. You're the best songwriter alive!
probably my favorite song of all songs of all time thank u graham :3 <3
This rules
Thank you!❤❤❤❤
❤This is considered a Christmas tune right?
graham is so underrated, he is like a Bo Burnham from other dimension or something but better
Dude what’s the name of the song about Robert wuhl? I can’t find it.
it's called HEARTLE$$, on the album Mrs. Equitone!
Beautiful
youre truly one of the greatest songwriters that ever lived, graham. i'll say it loud til the day i die
THE STRONGEST MAN ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great songwriting and hyper interesting lyric matter, as you would expect.
Graham, my copy of Ponyoak is one of my prized possessions and I will never get rid of it, I just wanted to say thank you for creating it. Cant wait to hear the other 245 records.
Shoooo is sir…..truth makes my brain wrinkle
Love u best lyricist of all time.
I first discovered KGW after seeing you (as Matt Cutter) in the Hit by a Car video on Douggpound’s website in 2004 or 2005 and then connecting the dots from there. I’m glad you’re still making music - even if these bare bones videos don’t get many views in today’s landscape of short attention spans and dopamine overload, rest assured that your work is appreciated.
well thank you! a lot more songs on the way.
Love it!
Great stuff!
I love you, Graham. Always will.
Yeahhhh babyyyyy
Got anymore videos planned? Missing you in 2022
well, yeah. i want to do a series where i explain how i wrote the song whilst (mostly before and after, occasionally during)👍 playing it. any suggestions for good catalog candidates? glad to do repeats of season one as needed.
no idea why it put a thumb in
@@0gs ^ if you're still set on this, i'd love a breakdown on Parody Music, Tendency Right Food Forward or Take My Heart and Rub It!
And a forgotten (by me) version of Amelia! Wow.
One of my fav songs
what guitar?
it's an ovation. a kind of fancy, yet entirely plastic, ovation
@@0gs thank you. It's really cool.
This series is still great over a decade later.
increasingly bizarre to me graham's not way bigger, one of the best songwriters ever fr
Its hos strange and very personal lyrics, and his inconsistent style. At least we know about him
My all-time favorite song of yours
...except for Babylonandon...
oh hey thats the bonus track version
One of the greatest songs ever written. Way better than the one song my band has written, granted we're not very good and don't enjoy the process, but still.....<3 Graham
just keep writing more! i _promise_ it gets easier and way more fun the more you do it and the more you determine WHY you are doing it. don't worry, even terrible reasons are valid (TRUST ME)
Thanks! Lyrics are fun, everything else seems like laundry day but maybe we'll use some new fun detergent one day. Cheers.
Damn, mighty fine song. Might be the essential “KGW” song.
Honestly one of. the best bands ever
One of the rearrest gems out there for me, so beautiful, I do not get people how they do not understand this song . This is true art, and real deep understanding of roots.
Excellent. One of my faves!
really love this
I love this song
Is KGW songwriting from the voice of a character? I was wondering this the other day. I want a KGW documentary.
heh. for the most part, yes, the character singing in my songs is a character, or maybe like a narrator or something. not me. this song, though, it's kind of all me.
@@kleenexgirlwonder I think your character/narrator is brilliant at exploring the limits of relationships. The exploits and self-centeredness are laid bare in the most human of ways...with humor, and something that is almost caring. Thanks for putting it out there. Do you have an album that is more diaristic or one that comes across as more "A Character" than others. Also, thanks for the previous reply!
@@nickmartin1294 Well hey, thanks! I self-deprecate that I don't have arcs or narrative goals in my writing, but I do, so it's good to hear it's appreciated. To your question, The Comedy Album is probably the one, although it's also an exploration of the use of humor as a coping mechanism. But it was written while I was going through a divorce, and I can tell you it's pretty personal, sooo... I am currently working on an album whose entire conceit is to be as vulnerable about something I really care about as possible. We'll see how it goes! Working on a lot of other albums before that one is likely to be done.
@@kleenexgirlwonderlive I'm really excited to hear the new work, I'm amazed at how prolific you have been, it's inspiring to me. I have also been divorced and I wish I had humor as more of a coping skill then, making it into an opportunity for a creative rebound did not occur to me then. I love humor as a coping skill now, I usually think of the punchline days after the pain...so it goes with trauma and wit. Are you willing to shout out any musicians you are currently in to... I started listening to Squeeze because of a lyric of yours.
Love this song
I feel like this video was shot during that part of the bath where the water is starting to get cold, but you just don't want to stand up and turn the shower on yet.
this is great stuff
😁
Auto magically!
Is that the guy from UB40?
One of my favorites!
