*_🙏🏼✝️🙏🏼 SOME SIGNIFICANT MOUNTAINS IN THE BIBLE._* _By SETH K.B. DWIRA_ Mountains are high-rise grounds or elevated grounds above the plain or flat lands. Mountains have valleys which are deep or very low-lying lands at their bottom/base. In the Bible, God called people (individuals) to the mountains to engage and interact with them, or assign or task them with a specific duty or special responsibility. There is the "mountain of sacrifice"; Moriah, on which Almighty God asked Abraham to offer his son Isaac as a sacrifice. That place or mountain was later called by father Abraham as Jehovah-jireh, meaning "in the mountain of the Lord it shall be provided or seen". (Genesis 22:1-14). Later king David bought that portion of land which had become the possession and the threshing floor of Araunah or Ornan, the Jebusite, and there David offered sacrifices of oxen/oxes to plead for mercy and pardon from God’s wrath to destroy the people of Israel with plagues, pestilences and death after king David's own wrongdoing of counting the population of Israel which Almighty God was much against. It is here that David said he would not give nor offer to God anything that does not cost him. (2 Samuel 24:1-25; 1 Chronicles 21:1-28). On that same Mount Moriah, which king David had earlier purchased, his son, king Solomon, built the Temple of the Lord; (2 Chronicles 3:1-3). (Note: Mount Calvary (or Golgotha), where Christ was crucified is believed or considered to be the same mountain called Mount Moriah in the Old Testament, where God Almighty instructed father Abraham to go and sacrifice his very beloved son, Isaac, but upon Abraham's obedience to carry out this instruction he was later directed by God to use a ram for the sacrifice, instead of his son.) There is the "mountain of escape or refuge"; Zoar, where Lot fled to escape to safety or for refuge from the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. (Genesis 19:12-30.) There is also the "mountain of rest"; Ararat, on which Noah's Ark rested after the flood, (Genesis 8:4). There is the "mountain of redemption/deliverance"; which is the Mountain of the Lord; Horeb which is same as Mount Sinai where God called Moses out of the Burning Bush and commissioned him to go and deliver His people from slavery and bondage in Egypt. This is the same Mountain of the Lord; Horeb or Sinai where Moses received the first Ten Commandments on the tablets of stone. (Exodus 3:1-12; 19:1-23). It is same as the "mountain of visitation"; Sinai (Horeb), where the Lord came down in fire and smoke and thunder to visit the people of Israel, and where also Moses received the second Ten Commandments on stone tablets after the first one was broken or destroyed by him in his anger over Israel's idolatry of worshipping the golden calf which Aaron made for them at their request. (Exodus 19:1-23; Exodus 34:2-29). There is the "Mountain of Last View;" Pisgah (Nebo/Abarim), where God asked Moses to stand and view the Abrahamic covenant inheritance promised to Israel, and that was to be his last sight/view of the promised land because he would not enter that land as a result of his disobedience to God’s word and instructions. (Numbers 21:19-20; 27:12; 33:41; Deuteronomy 3:16-17, 26-27; 32:47-49; 34:1-4) There is the "mountain of deliverance", which is Mount Zion, for on Mount Zion there shall be deliverance. (Obadiah 1:17-21; Zechariah 14:1-9; Hebrews 12:20-29; Revelation 14:1) There is the "mountain of kingship rights or kingdom inheritance," which is Mount Zemaraim (or Ephraim), in the Mountain region of Ephraim, where Abijah declared the lineage of the kingship of Israel. (2 Chronicles 13:1-10) There is the "Mount of Conquest, Refreshment, and Commanded Blessings" which is the "Dew of Mount Hermon" also called Mount Sion or Zion which is same as Mount Sirion. (Deuteronomy 4:48; Joshua 11:16-17; Psalm 133:3) There is the "mountain of decision & destiny"; Carmel, where the contest between Elijah and the false prophets of Baal took place to decide whether Israel should follow and serve God or Baal. (1 Kings 18:18-40) It is on the same Mount Carmel that the man of God, prophet Elijah travailed fervently in prayer to unlock the Heaven's to give rain upon the earth after locking it up with the "key of prayer" for three and a half years earlier on. From Mount Carmel Elijah said to the king Ahab, I hear the sound of abundance of rain. (1 Kings 18:41-46; James 5:17-18) It is on this same Mount Carmel that the servant of God, prophet Elisha prayed most of the time, and from there he came down and raised the Shunammite woman's dead son back to life. (2 Kings 2:25; 4:19-37). There is the "mountain of blessing" and the "mountain of cursing"; Gerizim and Ebal, where God told Moses to release the commanded blessings or the commanded curses upon the obedient Israelites and disobedient ones. (Deuteronomy 11:26-32; 27:11-26; Joshua 8:30-35). There is the "mountain of dryness or drought"; Gilboa, where King Saul perished, so King David cursed that mountain to never have rain fall on it as it is to this day. (1 Samuel 31:1-8; 2 Samuel 1:5-21; 1 Chronicles 10:1-8). There is the "mountain of victory"; Mount Olives, where David prayed to God to turn the counsel of Ahitophel into foolishness, and his prayer was answered exactly. (2 Samuel 15:30-34) The Bible informs us in Luke 21:36-38, that Jesus Christ went up on Mount Olives every evening and stayed there, praying all night, and then came down early in the morning to meet all the people who had come to Him, certainly, to hear the word of the Lord, and get their issues or problems solved and sorted. (Luke 21:36-38). There is the "mountains of protection/security;" Mount Zion, which surrounds Jerusalem and protected its inhabitants, from their enemies, as they that trust in the Lord. (Psalm 125:1-2) There is the "mountain of joy, beauty, sweet, acceptable and pleasant service" which is the same Mount Zion, which is the holy mountain of God that brings joy and beauty to the whole world. (Psalm 48:1-2, 10-11; Isaiah 40:9; Ezekiel 20:40-44) There is the "mountain of opposition, which is also the "mountain of blessing or grace" that stood before Zerubbabel but was levelled before him and he surmounted it and stood upon it like a plain and from there he more received grace and blessings. (Zechariah 4:5-7). (NOTE: This "mountain before Zerubbabel," looks more of a figurative spiritual expression, i.e. spiritual blockade, barrier or opposition, than an actual physical mountain before Zerubbabel that became a plain before him, that is, issue or problem simplified, sorted, solved, overcome.) There is the "mountain of transfiguration;" where Christ took some of His disciples to pray and was transfigured in their presence, and Moses and Elijah appeared there and spoke with him, and God Almighty spoke to confirm and assure Israel, and the world of Christ Sonship to the Fatherhood of God. (Matthew 17:1-9; Mark 9:2-9; Luke 9:28-35) There is the "mountain of temptation;" where the devil tempted Christ during his forty days fast, but Christ overcame him. (Matthew 4:8-11; Luke 4:5-8) There is the "mountain of intercession/forgiveness/salvation and eternal life;" Calvary (Golgotha), where Christ was hanged on the cross and His blood shed, and bled and died for our sins as He interceeded and pleaded with Almighty God, the Father, for forgiveness, pardon, salvation/redemption from our hell-bound situation because of the Adamic or original sin of mankind. (Matthew 27:33-44; Mark 15:22-32; Luke 23:33-53; John 19:16-24) There is the "mountain of Ascension;" Olivet/Olives, where Christ Jesus was received up into Heaven after His resurrection from the dead. He shall return and stand on this same Mountain of Olives from where He ascended into Heaven. (Matthew 26:30; Mark 14:26; Luke 22:39; Acts 1:1-12; Zechariah 14:4) It is also the "mountain of Second Advent;" where Christ, would stand, at His second coming. It is the same mountain Olivet on which Christ Jesus sat and made the prophetic declarations about the end-time and last days before His second coming, and the end of the world. (Matthew 24:3-14; Mark 13:3-10). There is the "mountain of Revelation;" Patmos (the mountanious prison island of Patmos), where Apostle John received the prophetic book of Revelation. (Revelation 1:1-12) There are many more mountains in the Bible to talk about, but I would end here for now. I trust that this would help to give or bring more insight to you about mountains and the physical (healthy exercise), and spiritual benefits of climbing up mountains to pray, and engage and interact with Almighty God who would have His people always come up before Him on elevated grounds and exalted planes or higher levels, just as the disciples were instructed by Christ Jesus to tarry (wait) in the "UPPER" room, not the lower room, until they were endued or filled and overflowing with power from on high. (Acts 1:12-13; 2:6; Mark 14:15; Luke 2:6; 22:12-14,39). God is up in Heaven and most of the time He wants His people to meet, engage or interact with Him on higher planes and exalted grounds, just as He engaged and interacted with Apostle Peter on the roof-top at Joppa in the house of Simon the tanner, (Acts 9:42-43; 10:4-32), and Prophet Moses on Mount Horeb or Sinai, (Exodus 3:1-12; 19:1-23), Abraham on Mount Moriah, Elijah on Mount Carmel, David on Mount Olives, and Christ on the Mount Olivet/Olives. So please, *IF* you are willing and *IF* you can, then please let's go up to the mountain top to meet, engage and interact with Almighty God in prayer and praise and we shall be blessed super-abundantly, super-mightily and super-wonderfully. Some of my experiences, when I was there for a few days is, on my return I was like a new creation I was a changed person and I felt like not returning, within me I felt the presence of the Lord all over my body, I felt like I'm in a small paradise when returning I felt like I'm coming back to a sinful world which I didn't have any option n I felt within me that the place is holy ground and few days I spent I felt like our God should come I'm now prepared to meet him. I was even thinking when I returned would never sin again. All my prayer topics are answered now and I'm moving on in life, Will visit the place again with all my family. 💥Remember the woman said in John 4:20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. (In the Mount Gerizim they have set their images and worshipping them: Jesus said that Jerusalem because God’s spirit came and dwelled in that temple after completion).But now God himself (Jesus) is here to change the place of worship and it’s in spirit. In John 4:21,23 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. 23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. (Remember the vail in the temple was ripped apart and no more holy of holy). Psalm 115:4 Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands. 💥God is a spirit and they that worship him must worship him in spirit doesn’t mean you enter into a spiritual world or in spirit it simply means God is a spirit and you must worship him whiles he is in spirit, not putting any wooden, stones, or any hand made images there and worshipping it.

BUT the new chocolate makers in Ghana are saying they import milk from Egypt when this farmer says a lot of milk can go waste if they can't find buyers. IS Ghana still having the old problem of believing that ANYTHING foreign is good. Why are some chocolate makers on youtube saying milk supply is hard in Ghana so they have to import from Eqypt. When is Ghana going to stop the "foreign is better" mindset. Super annoying!!!
