I am 21 and daily drive a 1963 Ford f250 unibody pickup 400 miles a week for the past two years. I enjoy working on old cars and trucks, making them run and going for a ride. I am currently restoring a 1951 Ford deluxe sedan and a 55 Ford f600.

Because of CARB(California Air Resource Board) there's probably thousands of these old trucks sitting around in California just rusting away. What a shame for sure. Nice ole truck!
Make it into an LRDG Tribute truck
I bought a 38 apparently has cable brakes in Oregon and shipped it to Connecticut. About the same shape but never and paint or body work. Garaged . We pulled and cleaned tank she runs perfect. Zero rust. I just got 6 new tires . Looks like mine has a Ford dump with small PTO. I don’t know how to operate it yet. Mostly 60s car collection but stumbled on this truck in a closed farm machine shop. Need to service the brakes next.
38 has mechanical brakes. 39 was the first year of hydraulic brakes for Ford
37 had mechanical brakes. 38 had cable brakes one year only. 39 had hydraulic brakes
I like the sound of Straight pipes on a Fleathead ans the sound of straight cut gears
Like that old truck

Never start a long Dorment 2-cycle Detroit, without checking for stuck injectors first! You got lucky!
Do they want to sell that truck let me know
A- Cars and Western Stars were the cream o' the crop back in the day, for sure.
😊
Make sure you use a mask when inside cleaning up that cab if you value your health. Hantavirus kills! Cool rig mate. Will look awesome restored. Love the paint scheme👍

I, have a 1937 1/2 ton or what ever they call them, truck cab, and the cab is all I originally got, and I’m parting it together with unmatched parts ,(3-10) frame and an ol ford pick up bed, I have not figured out what power plant I’m useing ,,,,that ol truck of yours is sweet, thanks BigAl California.
... About a month ago, I bought a running and driving 1953 Dodge Regent four door, 230-6, three speed manual, wide whitewalls, darn near flawless interior and exterior ... Best regards from central California Sequoia National Forest Mountains ...
Good men exelent trucks exitos 🛻🛻🇪🇨
Do you have the original title for the truck? I have a 1930 Model AA with the short frame and was built using '27 Model T cab, '28-'29 cowl, hood and radiator. The fenders and headlights are the '30 units.
Does it have a foot starter?
Jack Nicholson owns an autocar?
Hmmmmmmmmmm 4drs and a flathead 6,its a parts car!
There was a accessory dash clock you could get at the time that would sit in its own pod on the middle of the dash, made by Jeager and quite reliable
Not in the US. It was a Bulova here.
@@garycamara9955 I beg to differ. The 1953 through 1955 Plymouth clocks were indeed made by Jaeger. I've restored a number of them and installed two in my '54Belvederes.(Sold the rest on eBay.) BTW- The only difference in appearance between the '53 and '54 clocks were the bases. The '53 units had a small pedestal and the '54 units had a cradle-looking base. The faces on the factory-installed clocks didn't have the word "MoPar" on them. The dealer accessory clocks did have" MoPa"r stamped just below the 12 numeral.
My moms first car was a 53 plymouth...it sucks that now that im 58 years old i cant afford the cars of my youth because of greedy collectors gobbling up everything. Kudos to you for scoring a nice jem !
collectors are spoiling it for others... i believe everyone should be able to enjoy cars like these!
These cars are really cheap.
@@Viscous_FlowI do, I'm not rich , I'm a Disabled vet.
Makes its own undercoating?
My parents had one. It didn't like mountains.
