"Don't come into this with the attitude where it's going to be easy." (7:58) TRUTH! This world is a struggle where our ideas and endeavors can get pressed down, which can discourage us. But "greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world". Speaking of...I know sharing these struggles can take a mental & emotional toll when we focus on them. If you don't already, I wanted to recommend finding a Scripture to meditate on that speaks to the particular struggle when they arise. It could even be a different verse you share at the end of each video to keep eyes on the promise over the problem. Just a thought.

I am starting an etsy store with AI art, also a trained graphic designer *yahoo us* anyway the real AI art the sells is what actually takes time to make on AI tools yourself with your own prompts and loras and stuff that makes it unique. It also rarely comes out "ready" it needs touch ups, edits, fill ins, backgrounds removed/changed etc. Its also how its presented, how its marketed - there are lots to it. Its a "get lucky" scheme because it only takes one design to hit it big. I'd love to sell 800 shirts a month of a design but I need to keep trying designs that don't sell first. I totally think etsy and other advertisements are 100% worth it but advertising things that don't get native views and native sales rarely helps. Wasting 7 dollars a week to promote a listing that will never sell isn't worth it. Its better to spend the 7 dollars on various listings and do some social media or local area awareness to say "hey people, I created this check it out know it exists" and if no one buys it naturally from just that OR through etsy/google search then it most likely isn't worth promoting. The way of the world is everything would sell if you throw enough money into advertising, the game is to find what makes sense to promote and what is a design to rest on. Personally, if I have a product that doesn't sell in an entire year on etsy I would probably re-do it, re-brand it, or list it on my own website free and if someone happens to come along and buy one thats neat but I would focus on the next design and not put more money into it. Its up to your situation on how long to pay for a listing to test it, and how many times you list it. 1000 listings 3 times a year is $600. Would be a shame to waste $600 if you get no sales. Once sales do start happening is the magic part though since you then know what kind of niche products to start designing deeper towards and you see repeat customers and growing awareness with or without paid ads. Then once theres actually a good solid couple sales a week there thats the best time to add paid ads. (although all systems will have to be tweaked by you etc.) Its also a massive help to do giveaways. Give away a shirt with your store name and a design on it for free, even if its to family members to wear to get others seeing it. Same goes for mugs or stickers etc. A single person with a mug of yours if they work with 50 other coworkers most likely one of them will come check out your mugs too since they see it on the desk of the person you gave it to all day. I don't have a really good printer but I got a cutter machine to try to do my own stickers, turns out i'll probably just do print on demand until it makes money then invest in printing etc. I also love the ideas of it and have wanted a good 3D printer for over 6 years now (long story, I can't have one in my apartment but since i'll be moving back home I can do what I want.) Sometimes our own commitments stop us from progression and luckily ill be losing lots of them. Just by having access to an entire house electric system i'll be able to try new things and make cool things and I can't wait personally. PS: Etsy buyers are conditioned like Kohls buyers in which they don't buy much if it isn't "on sale" or discounted somehow. Doing POD I have to charge way more then I want to per shirt/sticker etc because im leaving room for a store wide discount. Etsy only does entire store discounts. So if your have "mixed" products as an etsy store scale the prices by PERCENTAGE after COST or you might be in the negative on products. This is partly why I would want to move to printing myself, making myself etc since I can have steeper discounts and still make good ROI. Also a good note is Etsy stores aren't a limited commodity. You can be the same owner, same human, have 100 stores. So, its always good to niche down to a product type along with a design type. So if you have "text mugs" have a "text mugs" shop and not just "text mugs" in your "t-shirt with text" store.

Hey AJ my husband and I own and operate a printshop in middle Georgia. We do business cards, flyers, t-shirts, banners and etc. Our first printer was a used Xerox for $500 bucks. and we rented an office space for $500 per month and we quickly outgrew that and added the next suite. I had no doubt that our business was going to be successful. We offer Fax, Copy, Print & Design. So we have a steady income and a steady flow of customers. and because we bought all our equipment used we saved tons of money and we owe nobody. If there's one thing I could change is I wish I would have opened shop long time ago because I was like you working from home. We been in business for over 7 years.

my first year in my POD Etsy buisness i made 12.8k in 2023 from Zero. so far this year in jan and feb earned 9.8k so far I can say in reguards to etsy ads they are worth it but in the beginning you will loose more than gaining. but took me a solid 6 months to determine with to turn off and on and what ROA i need to turn it off to avoid loosing money. in the end i do the following process and average a 3.8 roas across all products. (I turn off ROA once it goes under 1.8, Impressions on 100% fresh designs will only let go up to 500 impressions an item that sold let it go up to 3k impressions and if i do not aquire a ROA (aka make a sale through ads) I then turn off the said listing following those metrics. and i do this under a custom timeline of minimum or 6 months-1 year metrics. Some of my best sellers didn't well at ALL on ads therfor turned it on but organically was a king. so not all best sellers WILL success in ads.

Hey man. Been following this series of yours, as I just opened my Etsy store almost two weeks ago. I have had a Shopify store since January that I've been building up my listings, and decided to do Etsy too. Something strange happened with my etsy views and visits on the morning of day 8, which was Saturday morning. I finally reached 100 views for my Etsy shop on the morning of day 8. And as soon as I hit that number, literally a few minutes later, my views jumped by 50% to 150 views, and by the evening of that same day, my views reached 200 views, with no ads running. And now I'm at 317 views and 181 visits. Is it likely with Etsy, that once your organic views hit certain numbers, that the algorithm does something to get you more views?? I haven't sold anything yet, but I thought that was crazy when the views just started to skyrocket, compared to the 8 days it took me just to get to 100 views. I sell POD products like tees and hoodies by the way. P.S. Roland is a damn good brand, and I bet that printer cost a mint lol.

Hey @hoodieSource thanks so much for following along and for commenting, yea I feel like something is up, like they want me to pour more money into advertising, Maybe? I am not sure TBH but I am just not seeing any sales now, you see I did start at $1 day then I got my first sale but it's start to slow, then I did $2 a day and got more sale but now it's starting to slow. I am wonder if I go up another $1 day will I see more sale, I am not sure lol I might have to try it to test it out and to see if they are capping at a certain number. oh and thanks Roland is my Favorite brand, they make solid Machines!

@@ajvaldez Yeah, I’m still a day or so out before they’ll allow me to advertise. But I saw you talking about starting off with $1 per day, and that’s exactly what I’m going to do lol. Hoping for my first sale this week, just so that I know it’s possible lol. I could use the ego boost.
