How to replace an oil cooler on a Hitachi EX120-2. Should also apply to EX100. I believe the same procedure for the -1/2/3 models.

Hitachi EX120 First Digs

Here it is in all it's glory digging out a stump and working as it should
If the clutches are completely rusted, you will need to drain final drives and loosen off all final housing bolts to allow clearance to get the clutch out. It's designed so that releasing the drive flange bolts at Diff end will allow movement. If clutch seized, THERE IS NO MOVEMENT. Clutch pack is mounted to Diff Flange and should move towards outside of machine within the Brake Drum assy. Manual doesn't mention this. FYI
Disculpa que medida de tubo usaste
Many... Main rails are 2x6x0.188 Sub Frame is 2x3, Cross Members 2x2. Some of the steel was re-purposed from original build. Some was new.
I see you are 4 years old video. How much was this pack 4 years ago. I have a BS3D loader. I think its a grandpa to your dozer. Its sat for years with a downed engine. I gotta get ot going again. If the clutches are stuck I'm hoping to be able to afford a set of clutchs. The place i bought it from said they had just put in new clutchs. Also said they just slip in without having to take all that apart. From seeing inside yours , I'm not sure how they could simply slide in.
I would suggest contacting one of the parts suppliers I have highlighted several times in previous comments. Prices over the last several years have changed significantly on everything, so a 4 year old price quote will not help you much.
Thank you for posting! I have a BS3F that is in need of the same repair. Where did you get hour parts from?
NY Heavy Tractor. Comes right up when you google it. There is also a place called SteeringCluch.com
@@1TreeFarmer awesome! Thank you!
Thanks for posting!
It looks very dry
Is steering clutch pack compartment no oil in there to lubricate?
It is a dry clutch system.

What are the dimensions and gauge of the metal used for the frame and subframe? Also, what is the lift capacity of the lift assembly and where did you get it? I have the same truck. May rip off your design. 🤘
I thought I had most of this in the video, clearly I did not. The hoist is from Primary Mover their PH-416 (primarymover.com/collections/dump-bed-kits/products/power-hoist-416?variant=5644327092255) kit. See their website for lifting capacity. It was pretty complete and do not have a problem recommending it. The sub frame is 2x2x .25 wall and the main lifting rails are 2x6x.18 or .25 wall. The bed was a used bed, not my favorite to work with, but alas what we had. I know it was 12' long and I am pretty sure it was 8' wide. The main bed perimeter was 1/4" L angle and after adding the stake pockets (2x4x.1875 wall tube), I ran some flat bar between the stake pockets to stiffen things up. This was for a buddy's truck. Ironically a year later I got hit in an accident and ended up doing the same kind of thing on my Dodge 2500. I did shoot video just never completed the vid project. You can check out a build I did on a Chevy T7500 on the website Diesel Place. It's very complete and long winded. That bed is much better. Still in process as farming and life get in the way of fun projects.
@@1TreeFarmer,thx. Great job. Looking forward to getting the time to begin my build. I appreciate the info.
Sorry for the delay
Thank you so much for this video. We have been looking for clutch discs replacement for a while for our BD2F and can you share where you got yours? Thanks for sharing.
I purchased mine at DM Sales in NY.
Thank you for making this video!
Where did you find your parts? Have you been able to get anything you need? Thanks!
There use to be an outfit in Tacoma Wa that was able to get just about everything for this machine. I’ve since found two people (ID & NY), that have a lot of parts especially for undercarriage.
Was it rhine equipment in tacoma by chance? I used to work there before they closed@1TreeFarmer
Great job.
very nice!
Nice job! Thanks for sharing
That looks like a cab& chassis not so much like a pick up. Cool video 😎
Nice job on the dump bed build. What quart capacity pump are you using?
I believe it was 5 qts. Since it was new I also used ATF instead of hydraulic oil. That should help keep it a little cooler during repeated use.
Where did you get the parts.
Hello, there are two main suppliers of aftermarket parts. I happened to purchase mine from DM Sales in New York ( www.dmmsales.com/ ). There is another in Idaho called Steering Clutch ( www.steeringclutch.com/bd2strcltch.htm ). I think both are good and prices are similar. I had previously purchased new chains from DM, so they got my additional business. Good luck.
If you don't mind me asking how much did it cost you for both your clutch packs and your brake pads for both right and left I'm looking into buying the same dozer and I was worried about being able to get parts for it and I was also curious of what the pricing might be on it thanks
I need some help with this my left side clutch pack is stuck It moved till you try pulling it out then locks. Any help be appreciated
I'm not an expert so treat what I have to say as suspect. If you are trying to pull out the clutch pack assembly, you need to make sure that both sides are loose. You will know when you have completely free. It will be pretty obvious. There could be some other issue, like the 3 finger fork assembly rusted to the works. Good luck and keep us updated.
Exactly what I was looking for thanks👍
I don't have spell check , Should check first
Thanks for th video . I kmow it is har doing one I am doing this jub next week , Someone started the job and died he took everything off both sides Everything
Inherited a BD2G and clutch is frozen and may have to go in to get it moving. This will be a tremendous help if I do. Thanks for doing the video.
