Yes, the pads really suck. I found the Essential much pads better too. The footprint is good for me - I'm a new, casual user, and the price was right. Many thanks for the video.

Track Selection arms the track when Not Recording, But when you are Looping (in your previous video)it looks like you're still pressing the Record button to Arm the track, is that correct? UPDATE: I think you're stopping recording, then just picking a different track (and it auto-arms). I'm on the MKII so my buttons are a bit different. Here's another video of someone doing the same, I thinkth-cam.com/video/t9haqfZhxzM/w-d-xo.html Ok I did some playing around, I found use in stopping my recording after so many bars/measures, so that Ableton will repeat it. Then since I'm no longer recording, I can select a different track and it arms. Then, all I have to do is press Record hard button. my old iPad Pro says bluetooth not supported pairing with Mac Mini i7. however, a few free bluetooth connection apps as MidiMittr and BLE Midi will allow advertising and connection in synth apps regardless of what the Apple Overlord says. so glad I didn't give up! just use headphone out of old iPad Pro and Bluetooth for Midi and latency is great. the IDAM way of full Midi/Audio connection always sucked and unreliable with bad drifting latency

why mine and your keylab essential are not the same ?

there is a mod you can add to the pads to make them much more sensitive, its a really easy mod, I had to to this with an old akai mpk49 to get them closer to an MPC in quality

I've tried to setup my arturia with ableton but can't seem to get the settings correct to use the keylab to change midi channels using the keylab only. Can you do a little more detailed video showing exactly the steps and settings you used? This looks great. Thank you.

How do you record the sound to the camera? With cable directly into the camera or do you use the audio file from Ableton Live?

Do you know why the midi map would stop working? For some reason it forgets what I mapped it to. I thought maybe the order I was turning the device on in accordance with the ableton scene but it still stopped. I had to restart the laptop to make it work. It happens every time. I save the mapping in User 1, so it’s all custom.

The 88 has a much much different action. It's stiff even compared to other 88 key pianos. I'm ready to dump my Arturia 61 keylab. Also, you must have an Essential Keylab. My 61 key Keylab MK2 is all METAL.

"Few" keys? Bro, 27 more (or less) keys is NOT a small thing...thats a whole other mini controller's worth of keys.

If you are on windows and can't find the DAW in and DAW out, use the (Port 2) for both in and out.

Thanks I’m working on the bitwig controller script for essential so this helps working out what functions I want. Interesting that pads can mean all 8 clips in a single track and also mean different tracks for recording. Unless I misunderstood
