Charred siding ( Yakisugi ) and such
มุมมอง 2942 หลายเดือนก่อน
This one was memorable... exhilarating. The drive for its completion was bottomless. Yakisugi, Or Shou Sugi Ban. A traditional wood burning technique in Japan that enables preservation and prevention of water damage and pest damage. I'm sure its been practiced all over the world too, not exclusively there. Would have I came across this method without the internet? Huh. Very cool to experiment w...
The skeletal, muscular, and protective layers of the build

Shout out all involved with the process thus far. The material, the laborers, the "good" weather, the drive of the people... the minds and skills shared. The money that acquires these resources from the lands. Or, extracts I should say. Also the tools! Tools are incredible when used for the betterment of what's involved. We did excellent. CRAZY!...crAzY!
Sadness, Anger, Clarity

Song 1 : Sincerely, late 2018. Song 2 : Wounds, mid-late 2019. Song 3 : Constellations where you belong, mid 2021. This short film along with the paired tracks represents experienced stages of grief. Sadness, disbelief, tenderness.. in the first segment followed by Anger, recklessness, self-consumption.. and settling to Clarity, acceptance, release.. in the final part. Obviously, these sensatio...

We marked some lines, scratched some marks, and under local building code dug holes in preparation for the pouring and setting of the foundation pier blocks for a customer's weekend cabin.

Fili Moving Sesh

Filmed and edited by Matt Hartzel. Fili's moving sesh before he departed to the DR down in the Isles. I remember this. And when he returned in summer 2015. FOR NON PROFIT.
Durham park 2014
มุมมอง 277 หลายเดือนก่อน
Durham park 2014 filmed by Matt Hartzel, and also edited too. Cool to see how people have came and gone during the years. . . The park remains not as it once was, but as it is. Degrading over time, as we all too, are in that motion. Watching these clips, and visiting the park, I imagine and see the tricks by the skaters done in a ghostly fashion. That was done here... that was done there. HOW? ...
Durham park 2013
มุมมอง 687 หลายเดือนก่อน
Filmed by Matt Hartzel. This was a definitive moment for those of us involved in this project. In and out of the park with Matt, serving us as a skate druid and guiding us to greatness. Look how far we have come. It was a pleasure to skate together, and to evolve as a people and skateboarders. Give thanks to our individual journeys, and to what is ahead and present for us. FOR NON PROFIT USE.
Durham park 2011
มุมมอง 227 หลายเดือนก่อน
The sequel to the Durham park series. This one is from 2011, and features mainly Matt Hartzel- the mastermind behind the projects. Yup, he filmed himself and edited it too. He-Ha, actually not sure who filmed, in all seriousness. FOR NON PROFIT USE. This is historic preservation.
I would’ve thought that the top of the blocking should be in alignment with the top of the floor joists, to help support the plywood flooring, that will soon be attached to the floor joists, as the blocking could easily have been placed every 48” to account for the end of the 4’x8’ plywood floor panels, to rest on, eh?! Looks good, though! No ground supports for the 16’ span? I’ve used simple 2”x4” legs resting on a brick, on the ground, to help support the wood floor joists from bouncing, and attached that 2”x4” leg using a small block of 2”x4” secured to the floor joists and the leg.
I don't get why folks frame floors like this. The joints end bearing is on a 2X board turned in it's weak axis (flat). You did nail into the end of the joists thru the rim material but that just carries the floor load with nothing but the nails shear strength. The more stable frame would have the floor joists resting in full bearing on top of the beams. Puts the floor higher but it needs to be higher to get away from ground moisture.
Let the hunter out once more

This is the best car ever created. I got the sport with the paddleshifters. I’ve had a ls2 Camaro, supercharged mustang, and a 1996 prelude SI 5 speed with the digital dash. Bet your ass my fit and my prelude are my 2 favorite cars

I saw the thumbnail and I was like, "Who is that sleazy dude?" Ha ha, the backwards hat threw me off! Great edit! I didn't realize you were getting all those angles. "No sandwiches!"
I have 2 ge8 sport auto & 5sp. I love the FIT! Should have gotten the security guard to give thoughts on the fit. Also, the rear seats do recline a little bit, pull the rear seat handle and push it back. This is the definitive honda fit review.
