How come we can't hear the bikes

Here it is May 24, 2024, and my Harley is still sitting in the garage, this area is very familiar, Death Valley, Furnace Creek, I lived in Las Vegas, Nevada 35 years and put a lot of miles on five or six different bikes out there. I sold them all and now I miss 'em so much I broke down and bought a new Harley, just to let it sit in my garage. It sounds like you're riding a Honda, it sounds really smooth. I had a '78 Goldwing that was just like new. I wish I was out there with you, but I'm stuck here in Michigan right now. Boy do I miss this! I rode for 58 years and finally my bike had a major issue and I decided to quit riding. But I still miss it.

i have a stretch like that near me and had an Indian Chief, so i can sympathize... it's not just the weight, it's the torque that can send the ass end sideways if you breathe too hard on the throttle. lol

Lol i missed a pavement ends sign once going 55 on a country road, its amazing the difference between dirt and pavement on a sportbike. Sketchy as balls.

id say he was going a bit fast for the truck to see him but it was so far up i couldn’t tell, looks like a pretty tricky intersection especially if you miss any signs or come uo on it too quick . either way glad errybody still a body after that close one lol

The guy is super lucky there was another vehicle right behind the Toyota pickup. Terrible designed intersection.

When you watch it back, that is such a weird intersection. As you approach it from your direction, it indicates a T-intersection ahead, suggesting that the base of the "T" is to the right - the Stop sign to the right further backs up that configuration. Then you get up to it, and the blind corner is on your left for you, and to the right for the truck, while the truck's straight-ahead is very clear... which means that they should have the Stop sign on YOUR approach, so you have to take extra time to scope out the intersection. Wild...
