98 Kawasaki STX 1100 Fuel Sender

Bought this ski cheap but with some issues. Lack of fuel led me to a bad fuel sending unit. Let’s see if this fixes my issues....
Awesome video !! How many miles have you put in so far ?
How did u get access to pull the pickups out?
@@dylanlaubscher4586 if I remember correctly I had to access it thru the front of the ski. I believe there was a tray that came out and a couple of straps holding the tank in place. It’s been a while though so don’t hold me to it.
I’m trying to figure out if this is my problem it’s been in the shop 3 times and they can’t figure nothing out I thinks it’s standpipes has new icp ipr crank sensor and cam sensor it’ll run or idle perfectly then dive it and dies in 8 mins? Please sir I’d appreciate your response sounds like you know your stuff for sure
@@jaredyandell1220 I am certainly no expert but it sounds like either a hydraulic issue (losing oil pressure) when warm, or an electrical issue. Have you done anything with the FICM?
Very good video on this problem. When, not if, my 2006 f-350 standpipe o rings fail i will go with this product. Having to change standpipes every 5-6k miles is insane. Thank you for sharing your hard earned experience.
Thanks for update
Great video. How many miles so far on the Dieselsite standpipe and dummy plugs?
@@vacuumbed1 right around 2600 miles
So what do you think is the main problem, engine high oil temp takes them out ? How many miles when the orig's went out ? My 06 @ 73K miles are still good , 1 owner , 5k oil changes , never overheated , all stock .
@@bktrx250 I think it’s the quality control of the replacement parts. My original ones were in until around 112k and were only replaced when I did the bulletproof. From that point on, they were going out every 5-6k miles. That was with regular oil changes and quality fluids.
@@bigrick2384 Thanks , good info.
UPDATE: Actually they are still holding up the leak was coming from an injector. They lasted about 5000 miles for me. But I do haul every day
@@BenjaminReppond that’s unfortunate. I’m sure hoping to have better results…
@@bigrick2384 UPDATE. I was wrong they actually held up. It was leaking from an injector o ring this time.
Hi I'm just wondering if they are holding up thanks
@@WBHadventure I’ve got about 2400 miles so far. The other options tended to run 5-6k and then go. I’ll see what the next 6 months or so bring.
@@WBHadventure I’m hauling everyday with them and they have held up way longer than anything else. Still going strong.
How have these done?
@@BenjaminReppond so far okay. Right around 2400 miles.
Great video. I’ll give these a try. Thanks
Diesel sites standpipes actually a bit longer aswell, just put mine in today , let’s hope she holds
@@kirbyjohnson3595 I didn’t even realize that. I feel that’s definitely a plus!
I've had the same issues with my 2006. I have replaced the standpipe several times with Ford OEM motorcraft and they are just not holding up.
It’s been about a month now and so far so good. Hopefully I can come back in a year and say the same.
Thanks for posting this video! I recently purchased a 2007 F250 with a 93K-mile 6.0 that runs perfectly (for now). I have been reading on the forums that it's getting harder to find quality parts to keep one of these on the road so I am very interested to see how these hold up. The double O-ring certainly looks to be a great design improvement.
@redmondjp Glad you found it useful. So far so good since the install. I’ll try to do an update in a few months.
How’s the build going? I picked up an 89 Laredo to clean up. Just checking in!
Unfortunately it has been on the back burner while we are working on another truck. 😢
Hello Rick! Is there a way you can show how the fuel pump goes back? I’m having trouble putting all the hoses back on it
Sorry Jonathan, I sold the ski already or else I sure would. Best of luck.
First half of the video shows the the fuel pickup.
Did that fix the problem?
Unfortunately it did not. As it turned out, there was an issue with the CDI box.
@@bigrick2384 What was the issue with the CDI box? Did you have to buy a new one or what was the fix to it?
@@FriitzxeI actually sold it to someone before replacing the CDI. Last one I had issues with I took it to a TV repair guy of all people who rebuilt it for me.
