John Cobb, Loch Ness, His Tragedy & His Legacy 70 Years On
It has been 70 years since John Rhodes Cobb made his ill-fated world water speed record attempt on Loch Ness on the 29th of September 1952.
To mark this anniversary a short video has been put together capturing parts of the events held by the Glen Urquhart Heritage Group to honour his memory and his impact on the local community of Drumnadrochit and the surrounding area.
An exhibition was held in Blairbeg Hall in Drumnadrochit on the 30th of September and the 1st of October 2022 to mark this occasion.

It would be good if Rolls Royce or another could 3D FEA the craft and see if there was any design flaws that meant he was doomed what ever or was it actually just fatigue.. Shame there is not more footage or a 45 minute documentary could be created..
