Aerial and still landscape photographer who loves to get into wild places and express himself. You will likely find me somewhere on the east or west coast of America, though most of my time is spent in my homestate of Washington and the PNW.
Flying two lighthouses under a full moon - Portland Head Light, Ram Island Ledge Light, Maine
Filmed by drone from Cape Elizabeth to Casco Bay, Maine.
I ventured here twice in the past 3 years and on both occasions, the full moon was present. I caught the moon by accident the first time. Three years later I returned prepared for the Supermoon, but alas, the moon hid from me! Flying out to Ram Island, a mile out to sea, is exhilarating, and nerve-wracking, the drone being so remote.

Channeled Scablands 2 - Drone Cinematic Art
มุมมอง 312ปีที่แล้ว
The Channeled Scablands of Washington State is an alien landscape resembling the Grand Canyon that was created by massive repeated floods (The Missoula Floods) over thousands of years, and not the slow erosion that geologists historically had thought. The waters rapidly cut through the layers of basalt and left beautiful formations in the cliffs. Geologist J. Harlan Bretz cracked the code of th...

Portland Head is the most photographed lighthouse in America. Ram Island, probably less so, because you need boat or plane to reach Ram Island.
Nice! I would like to see more footage through the trees at 5:29 of the video.
I'm grateful that you've done all this...now I don't have to...seriously gorgeous.
My pleasure! Though I would love to see your take on this as well.

@@toddwatkinsphotoLuckily my younger years I explored many of these areas on foot. I'm not ready for drones. but that makes it all the more exciting now to see it all from above
As a resident of Leavenworth these landscapes have intrigued me since I was a child. I have been to these places dozens of times and have my own photos on flickr. But to see these from the sky down in such high resolution and thought through compositions is stunning. Lake Lenore, particularly; has always impressed me with the variety of shapes, colors, and textures. All in all, thank you very much.
Gosh, thanks so much, and you’re welcome! Lake Lenore is such a beautiful and fascinating place and I only discovered it for myself a couple of years ago - after growing up in Washington! I would love to see your photos, if you don’t mind sharing!
Amazing Todd!
Thank you Jordan!
I've been rock climbing in Frenchman Coulee since before I could walk! this is gorgeous footage, thank you for sharing 😄
Thank you! It’s great to have you rock climbers as my companions whenever I visit the Coulee!
A stunning perspective youve captured here..the majesty, there he is..nature...is physical spirit.. Pretty overpopulated though..we need a needlecraft
Thanks so much!
Beautiful job Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much!
I have been to this place and I must say, your drone opens a whole new perspective to its beauty.
Slow pass over the chocolate brown serpentine landscape, contrasted by the rich greens and tans of the farmland was my favorite.
Thanks for the kind review!
omg-you uploaded nice uploading.
Thank you!
Pretty damn awesome..........thank you for sharing this labor of love!
Thank you so much!
Another awesome video bro!
Appreciate it! Thanks for the feedback.
Spectacular work Mr. Watkins. Smooth, dynamic, interesting shots. Your flying skills and eye for the scene make for very compelling videos. Keep them coming!!
Thank you for your kind reply! I will keep 'em coming.
Nice work but there is the question of legality with some of the locations. Specifically the drone footage taken in North Cascades National Park (Liberty Bell). I know it takes a special use permit to do so and with this video up, I hope you had one or you could get yourself in some legal trouble.
Actually, Washington Pass is NOT inside North Cascades National Park. If there's something else I am missing, please let me know! I do appreciate the head's up, as I am diligent to research where I'm launching and landing my drone to ensure that I'm following all FAA Part 107 regulations. Thanks for watching!
Have you ever explored the Scablands? Please share your experiences! It’s an alien world that resembles parts of the American southwest, but in our own backyard.
very nice ! i subscribe
Welcome to my channel and thank you for your kind comment!
This is excellent work, Todd! it was our pleasure to meet you on the trailhead.
Hey guys, thank you. I also enjoyed chatting with you at the trailhead and hope your hike to Cutthroat Pass went well! Thanks for stopping by.
Nice to meet you at Longs Pass. Sam and Kay
I’m very much enjoyed meeting the both of you too! Now I know why Longs Pass is one of your favorite places. We’ll try to keep it our little secret….
I’d be very interested to hear about your methods, tools, and the (surely high degree of thoughtful and physical) effort to locate yourself in relation to flight and film capture. Stunning.
Thank you! Lots of road miles, early mornings, late evenings to try to get the best possible light. Even then, a few drones lost their lives along the way!
Beautiful work Todd! Yeah the Stanley footage was so cool, couldn't tell at first if he was another kayak...then I figured it out before the next shot. Good swimmer! Thanks for sharing this, fun to see what you're up to. Makes me want to invest in a drone! And catch up with my buddy Todd.
Hey Ken! So good to hear from you. Funny, Stan gets annoyed when I fly the drone, so swimming is a good distraction for that. Yes, I highly recommend you getting a drone, it’s a blast! Wish we had them in the film school days.
Very cool, there's so many picturesque areas in Washington it's almost obscene.
Thank you kindly! Yes, I am so lucky to live in this state, it is very obscene indeed!
Enthralling stuff i am moving on to the next video! I like your ideas you put us in new perspective. I admire your hard work! It may sound corny but, i like this! Just registered to your show! I will be 1, click, away. see ya.
Thank you so much for your encouraging words! Be patient, as I will be adding more content soon to my new channel.
Great work Todd!
Many thanks, I appreciate the view!
Beautiful, I got similar footage :) th-cam.com/video/j3qvUgu16xU/w-d-xo.html
Great artistic shots, fantastic pans and angles.
Thank you so much 😀
Nicely done my friend! I now know what I want to watch before I become Soylent Green! 🤣
Thanks for the compliment! Now that is an interesting reference that many viewers would have to see that movie to understand. But I get it, and thank you for choosing my movie for your Soylent Green ending. 😀
Top cinematic footage
Much appreciated!
Sunrise on Liberty Bell group is amazing.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! The lookout at the pass is the best place to stakeout this scene. You're also likely to see rock climbers up on those spires if you're lucky.
