Agreed but it could also be me as im using "unsupported" 2020 airport with UK2000 Luton. They are moving pretty quick at least now I am managing full flights with the fenix, hopefully I'll be back on my Vatsim journey by the end of the week!

@@crispeay Be interesting to see what they look like at a default airport. I haven't installed 2024 yet but really looking forward to all the new possibilities.

Also, what worries me but looks like they are reversing their decision is all the aircraft are encrypted. This stops things like liveries and third-party edits like flybywire from doing anything. Fingers crossed, it gets reversed.

All my premium deluxe 2020 planes loaded today with just a basic 2024 version.

Ok that's some good news I'll check mine in the morning. Think they are slowly getting round to doing things it's just been a disaster of a start for them. Problem when everything is streamed!

@@crispeay Yup. It has a message and I had to restart the game. I get the streaming is an issue but I've been flying it at 5am the last couple of mornings and it works just fine. Considerably smoother in VR. The reality is yes, everyone tried to fly it at the same time on launch day, but the reality is a month from now the hype would have died down anyway, and if they geared up all this server bandwidth it would have been wasted after the hype was over. Satellite textured planet environments were always going to be server based and the console crowd kinda forced the rest.

I don't think it's too much to ask for a game to work on release day 🤷‍♂️ In all fairness I spent 5 hours on career today so it's definitely got more stable. Still alot of bugs to be worked out for sure.

Its an app called VSR and in integrates with vatsim to make frequency changes a bit easier but I dont really use it as found it used way too much resources and now I've made myself a desktop radio to help with the frequency changes.

I completely removed autoortho to get the best result for me using mapenhancement. Make sure you remove it from the scenary.ini file aswell and make sure map enhancement is at the top. Although I think it moves itself to the top automatically now.

That's a very strange problem, did you install yautoortho in the app on the download page if you don't have simheaven installed?

I'm not to sure then, but you aren't meant to have yautoortho installed if you have simheaven. Only other thing I can think of is checking the order of the custom scenary file. Other than that I have no idea might be worth asking on the github

An alpha test was made available

They opened up an alpha test over the weekend through the Xbox insider program. Luck enough I was already signed up as I had done some beta tests for msfs 2020

You know what, after this video, I did see others, some saying it does have, and some saying it doesn't. Honestly, now I'm not sure. It must have streamed bing maps 100% but I did just fly into London and most buildings were just generic blocks with some handcrafted places, but when I flew to Barcelona you can see it in the video the city is almost perfect. I actually am not sure now and can't give you an answer 😂

AMD 7800x3D 32GB Ram 4070 Super Think I might need to go to 64GB of ram though if I want to try and run ultra, high runs fine get a few stutters when I am recording. Obviously this might all be different with custom scenary and airports in the game.

@@crispeay ​I often record videos while flying, and I've noticed a significant drop in fps in 2020 when recording compared to just flying. Currently, I'm using an RX 6700, but I'm considering upgrading to either a 4080 Super or a 7900XT. I've been running 2020 on ultra settings, and I'd like to maintain that level of detail in 2024 as well. For me, it is worth every cent.

Yeah, I'm pretty worried for xp12 to be honest. I still dip between the two, but 2024 has me seriously impressed. I think performance wise from what I'm hearing others is the reason for the huge performance increase for majority of people is the increased amount of items streamed to the game. This includes planes. I think this will change once we start adding custom scenery, but I hope not!

2024 is build from the ground up, it's not just a copy of 2020. They said that the things they wanted to implement were not possible in 2020 so they had to recreate the game.

The data limitations make it impossible to completely fix 2020, the new sim doesn’t have said limitations, and as the comment above says, it’s built from the ground up with things implemented that couldn’t be put into 2020.

Do you mean flyby mode as in the external cameras like xplane? If you do I didn't find one, but it does have replay integrated now.

Yes, in the original MS flight simulator there was a key command to watch your plane fly by in external camera mode. There was also a tower mode, which was pretty cool. Was hoping these features would be implemented in the new version.

@smink1701 Yeah, they would be a cool addition, I've not seen anything next time on i'll double-check the camera keybinds.

Damn that's a real good spot I didn't even realise. I change the time alot aswell as I hate flying at night 😂 It might be worth posting that on the msfs forums just to give them a heads up. Will suck if we have to fly at the real time all the time, for me at least.

Thanks, I know exactly what you mean. I'll be interested to see if the stutters when on final/landing have gone when we have custom airports in it. Those are the most annoying for me.

Agreed did you also notice the CPU usage seemed better. I know it's not a very current build they sent out but I thought it was damn good.

@simmybear31 yup I had a huge improvement in cpu usage. It's good early signs, but I'll brace myself for bugs on release 😂

Yeah, it seems to vary from person to person. For me it's the opposite, autoortho takes forever. Like I said in the video it's a good alternative for most people who have issues with auto ortho

In game, not many, to be honest. GSX - for all ground handling Simbrief Panel - so I can see all simbrief details in game Vpilot - to connect to vatsim IVAO for model matching as this was the easiest to install/update Outside of the game, simtoolkitpro and chartfox.

Orthoxp is the best if you have hard drive space. Autoortho is better quality Mapenhancement is lesser quality but ideal for people who autoortho doesn't properly for 👍

@@crispeay earlier in the year, I found a website that I thought all the orthographic stuff was coming from. I dont know how it all works, but figured even auto-orthoxp was pulling info from the same source. Up close I see texture in the graphic, but the trees are incorrect for where I fly and dont worry about it. I have my ortho on a USB drive and it wasn't expensive by any means.

I could do but wouldn't be up for a while, but maybe something for the future. Brief guide Install. In settings set the game path. Create a folder and set base package path. (This is for downloaded scenary) Create another folder and set cache path. Then bottom icon on the left menu and select what areas you want to download. Once all set press start, run xplane and then quit xp. In your scenery ini file put it down the bottom under everything. I know that's brief, but hopefully, that helps if you're struggling

Practice for me and spending some time in observer mode helped alot.

Take a pen and paper, write everything down, and just read it back. Simple
