Testing out Deaver Suspension leaf packs on the K5 Blazer
👊🎸👊
I bought all seals and just like the truck with no rear windows. Maybe next year lol
Now… how about the install!?!?
All that suspension, and no diff locks?
No driveshaft either. What else am I missing for your liking?
@k5hoss there were differentials under each axle - I think it had driveshafts, we just couldn't see them at the anglesin the video.
Yea, projects for poor folks take time to build. I didn't have driveshaft up front & was testing the suspension, sorry for budget build. I still outdrove locked & 4x4s on many trails.
Thanks man! Lots of work needed & the whole blood sweat n tears lol
Was this truck parked at Karl's house?
It was at 1 time lol
I had some work done by him & saw it there. Super awesome truck!
What kind of deaver are those?
Deaver has different springs for different needs. These are longer like 4 or 6" over factory. Several mods have to be made and you will need to do a lot of work on front drive shaft to make sure you don't break it because of flex/droop. Weight and equipment you carry has a lot to do with the springs and type of use. So best to talk to Deaver on what you plan.
@@k5hoss thank you i will have to talk to them Cheers from mexicali mexico🤙🏼
Thats buddy the Bear
Are there any elbow vent plugs to put on as well? My new battery came with one. I'm so confused now. Do we need to put it on, too?
A timeless classic!
❤
Top do top ❤
I'm getting to replace all the floor pans and rear bumper support on my 89 k5. Yours is bad ass
Nice video
Thank you, just getting a feel for them at the time.
What size lift do you have and what size tires? Nice truck!
Thanks bud, it's about 6" 39s.
Turn the wheel man
Lol the way it flexes the wheels turn without you even turning steering. It's strange. I didn't touch the wheel much & didn't even realize they were turned all the way.
I thought 8 lbs was good but I'm sure lower is better.
Tires not deflated down. Too much gas pedal. Bad combination for soft sand at Oceano Dunes. But I’m sure you knew that and was messing around.
I lived in Forest Falls. Had to move because California has failed its people. In a red state now. BLISS!
2.43mins of wasted space
You saved space?
Cool bro. Just make sure you have a long travel front shaft, well over 10" travel if running deavers. I recommend an AG if you want to buy 1 time vs experiment with it. Run a good shim up front too to align the angle. Enjoy bro, see you on the trail 1 day.
Bad ass Blazer man!
Thank you bud! Blood sweat n $ tears. Lol
@@k5hoss no problem! N I hear ya on that man I have a 90 K5 350 this th400 14 bff rear 10 bolt front with Detroit lockers reverse shackle in back I’m going to save some pennys up for some deavers!
Did you use headers and if so what ones fit I just put a 6.0 408 stroker in my 73 and bought the shoenfeild but the passenger side hits the firewall
Yea man, got the Doug Throrley Tri Y LS Headers for Squares. The passenger hit the fire wall. Took a Sledge to it & NO worries now.
So this is why the trial is all messed up 🤦🏽♂️ definitely should not be up there if u can’t handle the trail. Modify ur vehicle, not the trial
Yes you are right. They shouldn't make the trail Harder for the Yotas either.
If you have to stack rocks, you shouldn't be on the trail.
Is that a Jeep thing?
No it’s definitely not! I have a 4runner and I’d say the same thing 😂
I've been on the trails since the 80s. What's the new "Rules" For rock stacking? Or tire size, "lift kit" rules for the Jeeps n Yotas? Nothing under 31s? Funny how people talk out of their asses. Dude has 35s on his truck, it's a trail for anything to try to get up it. If he has to do extra, then let him freaking try it. His rig, his money. Ain't blocking anyone from going up, not holding up any rigs, so if you guys can teach a fellow offroader how to put lockers for a fire road ,place rules below.
No 4x4 locked, why?
Haven't built front Driveshaft.
Cold yet? Amazing canyon. 🤙
I have p0456 and I’m getting horrible gas mileage (13 mpg). Sometimes when I turn in the car I get a whiff of gas smell. Will replacing the ESIM and purge solenoid fix it ?
Not sure to be honest. I would try replacing what the codes calling default on & go from there.
Swapped mine out ($20 at autozone seems identical) just going through videos to see what else people encountered. I’m hoping this is the only piece I need the esim looks difficult to get to in the gen 5 Rams.
How you like those Deaver springs? Also you on 35s or 37s?
The springs are Great! Need shocks & some tuning after that but, been running it hard on Dunes & desert with little Bilstiens & is pretty impressive. It rides on 39s.
he didtn do it or he wou;ld have shown
Nice dent
Thanks, could've been a lot worse.
Nice... Isnt the road to get here closed? I hope It's open now
It's open from Goler Canyon or through the east end.
Nice group you guys got.
Yea, turned out to be big group. Good times bro! Broke down Saturday with my buddies 2500 Chevy. Still trying to get it home.
Cool
Wish you guys were there!
Great looking K5. I have a 77 as well and bought the Energy Suspension Body mount kit. Did you guys use those gold in color metal tubes?
Thank you! I don't know why i didn't go with Energy kit. I don't recall if it had the tubes but it wasn't Gold color for sure.
@@k5hoss Those body mounts look like energy suspension. Ive been slowly installing them but not sure what to do with the gold in color cylinder looking pieces provided with the washers.
According to the instructions it just shows the order of parts ie Body/Frame/# Numbered bushing/etc/etc
@@dy-no-mite9365 I didn't have instructions on mine lol. I believe the cylinder type sleeves go inside the bushing, to keep it from over tightening the bolts and crushing the mount maybe?
Lookin Gooood!!!!
I fucked my motor
How did you know he’s blind?
Who?
@@k5hoss the guy in the Nissan. I know him and he lost his eyes during a Baja race a few years ago. He had that Nissan Titan custom made with voice control. I seen him jump that thing 30 feet in the air truck is sick!
@@k5hoss I liky de trok. I guant won trok cheby en mucho many en dat trok. Jaja me gusta mucho
@@who100980 😂😂😂😂😂
Can you tell me what kind of cam and exhaust your running on the 6.0 Ls k5 ? It sounds great
It's a smaller rectangle Magnaflow. I didn't part #, sorry. The cam I used was the BTR Stage 2 NSR.
Dhat trok es kool I likie lot . Cam ju put I like. Me guant Juan one dayz. Juan I go up big I buyz Juan trok cheby trok
We took the bolt holding the body mount in off and the body mount still won’t come out. How do I get it out and what could be holding it in?
If the bolt is out, nothing should be holding it. Maybe stuck of old age or lift body a little more maybe.
Mine is stuck in there, can’t get it out!
Mine is stuck in there, can’t get it out!
Mine is stuck in there, can’t get it out!
It's a plastic tray if I recall. Should come out after removing the bolts on bottom.
What's the wheel and tire size on that K5?
It's the 39/13.5/17
Evap code p0440 ????
????
@@k5hoss what would evap code P0440 be, I need help lol
I don't have a code book. Maybe try auto parts or just Google to look it up. Should narrow it down.
@@k5hoss I had no luck had to see a shop and get ripped off lol
Nice blazer!!!! Love these trucks. mine is a 1984 that I’m restoring. I’m in the process of doing the body mounts and 2 inch suspension lift!!!! Keep up the great work bro!!!!!
Thank you! A lot of work needed on this 1 lol
Why do these trucks have battery covers? Are they that important?
Not really sure. Maybe for extreme weather.
how much do you need to turn it to lower the lights? I know its variable but how reactive is the adjustment..is it like a 1/4 turn or whole turn etc??
I would suggest putting the truck facing a wall at night with lights on, adjust as needed according to what the light on wall reflects.
Bad ass so clean
