Best version of slayer I heard this drummer is a beast!
When the band puts forward “What Slayer song should we cover?” and the drummer gets a big grin on his face and starts adjusting the tension on his pedals.
Didn't really have to growl. Would be just as heavy with original voice. Guitars and drums are right on point
the lyrics are darker than dark
This is truly the only AOD cover that is better than Slayer's original.
For a supposed deathcore cover, this is straight-up pure death metal.

Totally! Dave is a beast, but so many of the modern drummers are outpacing the old guards in a lot of ways! And that's not a bad thing, nor does it take the crown from the kings. More like the torch being passed on, is how I see it. 🤘😁

This just further proves my theory that Slayer writes killer songs for more technically sound bands to do better versions of.
Carnifex really is the elite tier of deathcore. They aren't a scene band, and you can tell. By far the deathcore band that most closely resembles black metal and death metal. I think that's why this cover slaps so hard.

Carnifex has so much talent! I've always said it... carnifex would make a brutal death metal band if they didn't do so many breakdowns.. im more of an extreme metal guy. But carnifex is one of those core exceptions.. i respect their style just wished they went full death metal
