The guys that made "Manor Lords", or their publishers have a lot of new games in the pipeline it looks like. One of them looks really cool called "Lorn Vale", and that has an OPEN Beta coming in December so go sign up on STeam if you want to play it. It's like a top down survival shooter game. Old school graphics like Fallout, or Wasteland.

Ever notice that none of these "modern" developers or directors have original ideas... There's a reason for all of the bullshit happening in cinema and gaming. You just need to be smart enough to see it. Those with the money are effectively punishing us for what we loved. All of this is on purpose. My suggestion, go back to the world's you loved and stay there. Play that game or watch that movie for the upteenth time. Because that's all we have and I refuse to let these people destroy our past. These people don't want you to be happy and the end game is for everyone to be as miserable as they are.

The thing is, the JOURNALISTS haven't played all of the games nominated (corporations aren't people. IGN is not one guy that played all the games). Hell, the journalists haven't played a crap ton of games that they snubbed for nomination. So they're opinion holds as much weight as a gamer that didn't play all the games nominated.

Balatro got the "Indie Darling" of the year, but it isn't a GOTY kind of game imo. They have an "Indie" category already for Balatro, and it has been recognized. I mean, Balatro after years with the greatest games of our era being snubbed as indies. Did Terraria ever win anything?

no DLC should not be game of the year, but is all rigged 90% decided by woke site like IGN in the background so yeah.. is all fake and woke people. No one watch there show so they make no money as always vote with your wallet and just boycot. no because rebirth you start again from 0 and is a full separated disk. Remake and remasters should not be considered.

If the Dlc have multiple layer of content that almost as long as the main game and expanded upon its story, it could.

I kinda knew they’d eventually do something like this... The complexity kept growing with every game and every decision. It’s literally impossible to account for all possible outcomes. Even the Mass Effect trilogy, which had a single main hero and major plotline, failed to deliver a truly satisfying ending. (IMHO, it still did a great job reflecting players’ decisions.) Series like The Elder Scrolls and The Witcher didn’t even try. Still, I hoped Bioware would at least carry over the most crucial aspects from the old Dragon Age or recognize players’ actions in some meaningful way. Instead, they just went the “nothing mattered” route. So disappointing...

This is such crap! failguard. Also, where was The Warden? Where was Hawke? Where was the Inquisitor? Come on! This is complete trash and lazy writing.

They decided that longtime fans are too picky and encourage the Dragon Age audience to have standards that they don't want to deal with, so they trashed everything and made it intentionally bad to drive the extant fans away and hopefully get less discerning fans to take it up who can be easily pleased with a cheaper product that takes less effort.

I can actually speak to this new IP vs old IP - I work on the fringe of the entertainment/media industry, and I've talked to some writers that say all the best scripts and stories, original stories, they've ever written are all just sitting on their shelf. Executives are only greenlighting existing IP because they think nostalgia and trust in past entries to the IP will carry them to the big bucks. This is actually how Andor got made - the showrunner wanted to tell that style of story and those kinds of themes, but he could only get it greenlit through the lens of the Star Wars IP. The writers are all stuck because no one will buy their scripts and ideas if they don't exist within existing IP. And so they change their stories to fit existing IP, and sometimes we get lucky and we get Andor, and other times we get kicked in the teeth and given The Veilguard.

Now that I think about it, why wasn't Sadal in this game? The only Dwarf with a mysterious connection to magic and you don't bring him in when explaining the origins of why Dwarf's can't use magic?

Maybe its still a form of belittling video games much like in the past. "Video games are for kids" and whatnot. That's why those devs can just do this to a beloved IP and gaslight the consumers and fans.

I can confirm nowhere are mentioned the hero or the Champion, actually Hawke is mentioned by Varric once but we don't care enough to ask him about the champion of kirkwall like the Inquisitor did. No old companion is mentioned, we have no idea where are Bull and the chargers, where is Zevran, Alistair, Leliana, Cullen, Cole, Fenris, Cassandra...Cassandra is mentioned in a memento and she's just hinted, you can understand they're talking about her if you played Inquisition! And why the f. the inquisitor didn't go after Solas but this perfect unknown person?? At least he should have been the one leading the vailguard, if they didn't want him/her as protagonist! I spent an hour in cc to recreate him just to see him a couple of times? Why?? Also they decided the gods changed the blight so now the darkspawn look like zombies and if someone is tainted by the blight they don't die in pain and agony, now they tranform into monsters. The wardens ignoring how griffons get extinct is absurd...all that amazing lore to work with and they just erased it....

Having a Dwarven companion that suddenly can use magic, yet *nobody* at all is slightly alarmed by it was my first inkling that the lore was extra loose this time around. I get it's part of the companion story or whatever, but how could not a single person among a team of multiple mages not be alarmed/interested in a dwarf with sudden connection to the fade that they themself describe as feeling foreign to her.

This is probably the last dragon age game, sounds like it to me.

It reminds me of what Blizzard did in World of Warcraft during the Shadowlands expansion, suddenly, absolutely all the events were planned and the characters manipulated by a very lame character invented at the last minute for the expansion (The Jailer) The studios have filled up with new people, with new ideologies and they are targeting new audiences, trampling on old lore is the only thing they know how to do, they simply do not have the talent to tell their stories without corrupting the previous work of the previous people

What's baffling about it? Ferelden was *always* the backwater of Thedas. While Orlais was stronger than Ferelden, it was nowhere close to the power of Tevinter or Nevarra.

What is it with new entries in franchises, (not just games but movies too) that feel the need to spite in the faces of old? Completely disregard lore, retcon it to high heaven and kill off beloved past protagonists and companions. It screams lazy and cheap! My Queen warden and King Alistair did not come so far just to lose their home and die off screen. My Hawke sacrificed so much and for what? Even my inquisitor feels like a footnote. If ever there was a reason to have a direct sequel with a previous protagonist. This was the time to do it! This is their fight. Everything in their worlds coming to a head. So much at stake yet they are given no stake in it. No honor, no glory, no dignity. If there is ever a dragon age 5, let it be the true Dreadwolf experience we had hoped for. Veilguard will simply be a spin off. A glimpse of what the worst world state ended up as.

Stem is the Arishok but the Antaam broke away they left the Qun. So Sten still is in charge that we know of of those that follow the Qun.

Remember that Loghain did what he did because of the story he had with king Cailan and what happened with his father, they are literally throwing away the original books

Sadly, they had to erase the past because the writers they have now are extraordinarily subpar to the skill that we had back then and either they don’t respect the source and original material or they want to trash it because they can’t be as skilled or creative

It isn't baffling, it is PLANNED. The only way for ANYONE to accept DA:V as being "cannon" is to DESTROY all the prior DA property. In short, if you erase the past, all you can do is move forward with the new. It is history revision to push a social agenda that now MUST be the "main theme" going forward because there is now "nothing before it".

So let me get this straight; Denerim, what is essentially the capital city of Ferelden, just got straight up DESTROYED by the Blight of Darkspawn, yet Redcliff the town that for all we know since we last visited it in DAI is an unwalled coastal lake village in the Hinterlands with the only sense of fortification being the castle...need I remind everyone that, even though this was accounted in the year when DAO was set in, where Redcliff had just about a round population of 200 citizens, Denerim had 70,000! Granted most likely that population in Redcliff have grown over the years. According to the timeline, DAV began exactly about 22 years after Origins so at a fair estimate Redcliff could have reached a thousand or so citizens though looking at DAI where it began 11 years before Veilguard that might not be the case... So unless the Archdemon of this new Blight was literally underneath Denerim and imploded the city upon its awakening by the Darkspawn, I find it highly improbable that the CAPITAL CITY OF FERELDEN fell whilst this backwater village smack in the middle of the Hinderlands remain standing. Duncan died for nothing.

Everything they did to this game is hot garbage. I remember when I saw the demons for the first time and I was like “What is that? A new demon? That’s a pride demon?! That rip plastic bag?!”

The game does suck but it baffles me how many people are making videos without actually playing the game

Even that narrative is twisted (I mean in Veilguard), for it has been established that in Qunari-Society women can become fighters. Should the choose to do so, they are treated as a man in every regard. - So the story about a Qunari female not able to become a fighter is pure and utter BS, solely implemented to push a political agenda.

Addendum, I also read the prequel to DAO back when the game came out - no, there was no cloaked shadow organization that influenced Loghain. The reason he betrayed Cailan was pretty much the PTSD from the Orlesian occupation. In fact, he tried to save him, but Cailan wanted to be at the front and Loghain would not stop his plan in spite of this fact. A lesser son to a greater father, that is an apt description of what Loghain thought.

I think you described exactly why the Wokeguard devs had no trouble with removing all the story before THEIR game and not care. We are europeans, we have 3000+ years history that helps define us - we have to know where we come from to know where we are going. But how would a nation that is not even 500 years old ever know what that means? Especially now, when ideologies make people build entire illusionary castles and tapestries they then declare holy? Not saying all MURICANs, have to state the obvious, but to us in the EU it is just normal to understand how history matters.
