How is The box frame (housing the sash windows) rebated correctly ? Request dimensions of its rebate and thickness of the wood in the frame, sufficient to provide strength under load Pb weights). Thank you.
John very ingenious. Any updates or modifications to this machine since this posting? Curious if bowls could be done with this.
Interesting video. John, did you abandon uploading videos to YT?
Fab video, been thinking how to set about this and you show a very workable method. Thanks
nice, might you have plans?
Well done video. Thank you!
That was a great video! Didn't realize it was that easy to make footed shafts. Thanks for your channel!
I’m in the process of building a few divided lights windows with handtools only and I find this video very helpful. Thank you! Not sure if you read the comments, but if you do: In the video, the cope cut was not shown for the larger frame joint but it was coped right? Please make a video showing how you make the planes! In my part of the world, the combined sash plane, cutting moulding and rabbet at the same time, was not used traditionally and I can’t find old planes. I plan to build my own and some pointers would be great!
Do you have a video showing how you taper your shafts?
Nicely done ! Really enjoyed your video, the volutes look great on your chairs
Great work. Thank you.
Man, you're going to cut your fingers off!
Great video. I always wanted to know how muntins and bars were made in the days before power tools became ubiquitous.
Can I get plans to make a lath from you
with an added benefit of getting some better FOC. Thnaks for the video. I just started making shafts and I got some scrap hardwoods waiting in the wings!

How did you make the router jig and what bit are you using.
Nice video thank you for sharing
I am going to make a video of plane making
Would love to see how you made your planes, thanks so much for sharing.
Great, thankyou, how much does this increase durability
Depends on the shaft , cedar a great deal ash not very.
Thanks for a very informative video. I’m curious what arrow spine you end up with poplar? Until you make the arrow shaft , there is no way to put it on an Adams Spine tester to see what the deflection is. So you won’t know until you have run it through the dowel maker and then determined the spine by testing it. So far have you seen a lot of variation in spine weight? The Home Depot here carries poplar and I have wondered how good of an arrow it will make. Do you straighten the shafts with heat? Will they hold the straightness? I shoot a Howard Hill bow which has a small arrow shelf and not center cut like a recurve. For this reason the spine has to be closer matched to the bow since the proper paradox is important for good arrow a flight. With a footed and tapered shaft I would think that you have the best of all worlds working for FOC and recovery from paradox.
Your correct you can spine test until turned. Poplar works well but on occasion can be very weak spiced. I really prefer Doug fir but polar is easier to come by. Most of my bows are close to center shot and pretty forgiving . That static recurve is nowhere near center shot and is fussier with spine. I hand straighten and they seem to stay pretty well.
Great job. I’ve done the single wedge by hand. This looks much more impressive and really not that much more effort. Thank you. Very well done.
Wobble usually leads to excessive wear, especially when you are taking such aggressive cuts. Hardwood material such as oak or maple will take care of that. Framing lumber is a little too mushy against all the physics of a treadle. Of course if this is just for show purposes it won't get that much use.
Looks great!
Great, you are the first on TH-cam who really make a sash window. Please make a oder video how to make the planes. Thanks in advance

Love your chairs❤️ (Barbara’s Country Treasures) Coxsackie NY.
What is the weight of your headstock flywheel?
Your Tailstock looks like it's really wobbling. Do you have a wedge holding it in place?
Very impressive; nice work.
