50:00 - This is a very important point, the conflict having a capacity of being a creative part of the learning process. As not everything is resolved through consensus (excellent observation to that effect at 55:00) and for the learning process to take place, conflict wil have to be either resolved or at the very least articulated, preferably without producing additional conflicts or, to borrow author's terminology 'white whales'. One methodology specifically designed for the conflict (or any dynamic & uncertain situation for that matter) and that incorporates questions of identity, values etc. is OODA-loop (Observation-Orientation-Decision-Action). No wonder that its second stage, namely Orientation is often described as the most complex, because it is aimed at integrating components like previous experience, values, genetic memory etc before arriving to a decision. I feel like the author has those elements in place and potentially could benefit from that approach, even if it lies outside of the more sophisticated high level concepts of cybernetics. Granted, integrating individual actors' OODA-loops with an overarching VSM model can be a daunting task, but developing a theory of observer may prove to be more grounded provided conflict uncovers hidden 'white whales', which otherwise stay dormant, subcoscious and thus unobserved other than through their poorly understood outward manifestations

Dear Igor - thanks for your question. Yes our children inherit much from us and the culture in which they exist and conserve it as an embodied tradition of understanding out of which they think and act. Unless we can invite others into a cybersystemic conversation which becomes a wavefront of understanding and practice then the mainstream paradigms will persist and our designs will be more of the same.

What do you think about indirect consequences of our activities? We are creating collective memories of our behaviour and redesign the regulatory frameworks. These will propably be used by our offsprings (natural and artificial) to learn upon.
