How to make laboratory stands! #DIY
Laboratory stands are very important equipment of each laboratory, so instead of buying them let's make some! I'm starting with things available in any hardware store and ending up with nice almost professional stands.
If you don't understand my terrible English I've made subtitles for you, so don't be afraid to turn them on!

    Respectfully, the steel plate price far outweighs the cost of a factory stand. Fantastic idea though. Concrete paver would be cheaper

      Yep, written by someone who hasn't posted a single video. Come on, get off your backside and post something so I can criticize it.

    Isn't the cost of the iron plate about the same as a ring stand itself?

    Nice way to make them, wondered if you could use a wooden base to save money and perhaps a wood dowel for the up-right. You would need to change the clamping method to perhaps rounds ring with screw in them. Might not suit your experiments as it would be more prone to catching fire.

    • @homeofscience7986

      cosmicrayastrophysics Hello, thanks for the comment. I think that the wooden base is quite good idea, however even the steel ones I have are sometimes not heavy enought and prone to flip over. I'm also concerned that wood would not be strong enough to hold the threaded rod. The rings sound interesting, but I would be concerned about breaking the glass and the ones I use cost me about 1$. Thanks for your interest and have a nice day!

      if you put a lead weight on the bottom that might work... however the dowel seems like it might be flimsy.

    • @slickwillie3376
      @slickwillie3376 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not the rod. But I made one with a relatively large block of wood covered in aluminum foil to protect against fire. A dowel would burn. His idea is perfect though. It gives that extra degree of freedom due to the hinge.
