How To | Replace Coolant Expansion Tank on an N55 Engine | BMW 535i (F10)

I did a complete cooling system overhaul last year to replace the water pump, thermostat, expansion tank, hoses, etc. The expansion tank and upper radiator hoses were made in China, however, and were failing after only year. Finally a great video showing the actual make/model of an actual F10 535i, or 3.0L MAFS location and replacement. Great video thanks!
I'm looking for a little help. Will this fix code p12A9 boost pressure too high?
Hi friend, can't say without more details. Does your car have a tune?
What code did u have for that specific sensor ?
Sorry friend, that was a year ago and I don't remember
Thank you very much for this video! Very helpful. Changed out the MAF today in less than 25 minutes!
@@nicolesheehan6710 that’s awesome, thank you friend
I put 15psi, leave it there for 10min and holds all the pressure. But then i find coollant spills in the engine bay. Any ideas??
@@ignaciorodriguez5001 hi friend, sounds like you need to track down a small coolant leak. Try looking above areas where you found the spills, usually a hose connection
Awesome video bro keep it up

So is that a bad sound ?
@@adanlamas7677 no, engine sounds good. No whine or knocking. Just fuel injectors clicking
Great video and easy to understand. Do you have the part number for the heating/vibro control module?
Hi friend, according to RealOEM.com the part number is 61319383878, but please do research to confirm. Thanks
Does the 5 series and the 7 series have the same exterior door handles??

I did a first oil change on my 2011 and i had to take the skid plate off...only had 2 bolts in the front and 2 in the back. Going to replace them all do you happen to know the screw size for those 6 in the front?
I believe they are all 10mm, I don't know the thread pattern. Hope that helps

If my BMW dont have comfort access handles, can i upgrade it and how. Can i just buy comfort access handles or it must have some moduls to put in door? Nice regards.
Hi friend--yes, in theory you could. It would take some effort, i.e., new wiring to door handles, new handles, coding, maybe new modules. I have not done this so cannot speak from experience. Hope that helps
Thanks man!🤘🏼😎

Hello. First I want to say that you made good job. You’re the only one who made a video manual of retrofitting. I’m about to do the same thing in my f11 but I have question. My F has lane dep. warning, light assist, but doesn’t have acc. Do I need to buy a steering wheel with heat panels and button? Ofc I know about coding. But i red on some forum that I will need to connect one wire behind passenger glovebox. Is that true? Appreciate for help
Hi friend, thank you very much. I believe you only need to buy a heated steering wheel and the appropriate steering wheel module, i.e., for heat and vibro. I don't believe you need to run any new wires. Hope that helps, cheers.
Need assistance- so on my 2015 bmw x1 xdrive35i E84 won't stop bleeding usually stops around 10 to 15 minutes but recently it won't stop - is there anyone that can asset?
My experience with my N55 is that bleeding doesn't "stop," per se, but I know that it's finished after 10 minutes. May be the case with yours as well. Are you experiencing any symptoms that suggest it's not bleeding properly?
Don't have BMW (yet), and part of it is that I can't find a spec I want, but your vid brought ease on my mind - looks like pretty easy swap! Subscribed.

This might help those that can't seem to get the bleeding sequence to start. I don't know about other BMW models, but on my 2012 535xi, when you floor the gas pedal and THEN if you push harder you'll feel a switch being engaged. That's what I did to get mine to work. The pump is quiet and so it helps if you have someone outside under the hood listening for the pump when it comes on. Also, stay in thee car until the 10 minutes or so is up. It seemed in my case, when I opened the door to get out it MAY have canceled, but I don't know for sure.
Thanks for sharing that tip
Great video. Easy to follow and insane organization. Thank you for posting!!
Thank you, friend--and I'm glad it helped
Thank you for the great video, but it doesn't work for me. My vehicle is bmw 520 xdrive N47D20C diesel 2.0 184 ps. I wonder why it doesn't happen?
Hi friend, thank you for the feedback. The N47 has a belt driven water pump, so this procedure will not work for your car. You can just follow normal process of filling up, turn heat full up, fan lowest speed, let run and top off as needed. Cheers

Hi Brother, I have noisy coolant ventilation when AC is on, As I read from internet, there are 2 reason, one of the reason is : coolant system that's filled with air pockets and hasn't been bled properly. Could you please help me how to bleed it?
Hi friend, I'll be glad to help if I can--what car and engine do you have? Thanks
@@SingleMaltMotors I have f10 528i gasoline engine 2012, first time in my driver career feel that when AC is on coolant vent starts to work, vent is working very noisy of course when AC is on,some guys told me maybe air pockets in the cooling system, other guys told me check refrigerant level maybe too high, my problem is coolant vent working very noisy, also some guys told it is normal in BMW F10🤷🏻♂️, but i dislike when car working noisy
@@alessandrodelpiero4395 Ok, thanks for the additional info. Let's see if we can resolve this issue. To confirm, the main symptom you want to resolve is that the AC is very noisy--is that correct? If so, can you post a short video of the AC vent noise to your channel so I can hear it?
@@SingleMaltMotors AC itself is not noisy, in this cars when AC is on, coolant ventilation starts at the same time and working very noisy. when AC is off, no noise.
