Just like you go to work and do what you do, i go to work and do what i do. Having repaired hundreds of aquariums, iv never received a call back about one leaking. Repaired 10 gallon tanks to 10,000 gallon tanks.
@@Merknilash on the new 750xxl they added a center brace. Which after the repair i also added a center brace.

@irwingrivas541 *breath* A 95 is the same as a 97. If you check out my other videos, i did a complete 97 ranger 5.0 swap. You WILL NEED a complete 96 5.0 explorer donor vehicle. Swap over everything. 1996 EXPLORER 5.0 SPECIFIC. 97-2001 EXPLORER DONOR WILL NOT WORK AFTER 97 RANGER.
Just resealed my 625 using your tips! I left the gusset out! Getting it cleaned out properly was about 6 hours while resealing was 15 minute 😂. How is your repair holding up 3 years in? Thank you truthfully for taking the time to make this video to enable DIY-ers to take a try at this inexpensive repair.

Just bought a 2000 ranger and I wanna get the TRQ led headlights. Realized after having it for a bit I noticed I can’t cause the headlights are different shapes. Somehow just got lucky and found a 2001 grille on marketplace. Thank you!

@OgGokush montgomery conroe. If you bring me a ranger, and the proper year explorer 5.0 donor for it (just ask)and $11,000. I'll swap it, it'll run and drive with no check engine light, like it rolled off the showroom floor from ford.

@@garfbuckle9081 thank you! Its tri-y long tube headers, 2.5" collectors into dual 2.5" inlet 3" outlet flowmaster muffler with side exit right behind the passenger door under the bed.

I absolutely love O'Reilly's brake cleaner. Get your big tank and use 100% concentrated simple green or break it down a little bit and then allowed to put some boiling water in with it allow your parts and so forth to sit and soak. You can pick up two and a half gallon jugs of simple green at Home Depot commercial grade
@vortecturbo ya, we have a parts washer with mineral spirits. Im also a huge fan of simple green. I usually use brake cleaner with a brush, let dry. Then, put in the sand blaster. Some parts i just let soak for days in the mineral spirits. I always keep simple green on hand though, it's great stuff. Thanks for the heads up!
@vortecturbo i worked in a centrifuge shop where i cleaned industrial parts all day every day, so trying different ways to clean parts is a must to keep from going insane.

Does either of these have the OBD2 port work? I want to swap my ranger with a sbf but i want to be able to have the computer work just fine and throw up a code when something goes wrong
@tapatio1425 yes both work. The red 2000 thinks it's a 99 explorer 5.0 absolutely no engine codes or check engine light at all. Using stock front cats and all 4 02 sensors. The grey 5.0 97 ranger has check engine light for the rear 02 sensors not being installed, range sensor and other automatic transmission related codes because it thinks it's a 96 explorer with a 4r70w, but it has a 5 speed T5. Runs great.
@@tapatio1425 will be going with a haltech or holley ecu soon for the 97, after the S10 LS1 swap.

Whats Headers use ???
@jonathanruiz1418 for a rangers up to 97... you can use 1966 mustang tri-y long tube headers. With a slight sliver cut out of the inside of the passenger frame rail to accommodate the header. 98+ with gt40p head you have to use stock explorer 5.0 exhaust manifolds or torque monster/obx headers which are $1,000 and take between 6 months and 2 years to receive them

I forgot to ask this in my other comment, but are you sure the rear cupholders you mentioned from I’m assuming the extended cab models fits on these? If that’s the one you’re talking about I would think that it would fit into place but I don’t think the seats could go all the way back or fit in between them either, I could be wrong though. Just curious since I had considering doing it to my regular cab too until I thought of that possible issue.
The cup holder im referring to replaces the intermediate backing board, and the cupholders themselves would be between the seats and just above the center console and below the rear window.
@@SBS_Auto Yeah, I know. They’re from some of the supercab models. I don’t know if it fits in between the seats considering the size of the regular cab & what it’s meant for though, that’s what I’m wondering. I don’t think it would overlap between the middle of the seats & not let them recline back all the way.
This video made me realize I’m missing the center part of my header panel behind the grill for god knows what reason, excellent tutorial too.

Love it! I have a ‘99 Ranger, not doing a V8 swap but I repainted it & have done a lot of cosmetic stuff to it too. I did a lot of the same interior upgrades you did, a tilt column in a regular cab is a MUST! You should upgrade the door panels to the XLT ones with the better pull handle & pockets for storage & then a leather steering wheel would be cool too.

It's an early '97. Built 9/96. Three bar GT40s, return style fuel system and internal EGR. I've been looking for one just like it for a while now.

This has to be the most useful video I've seen! I have a 2001 mazda b2500 im thinking about doing a 5.0 swap. It is a 5 spd. Can I use that trans, or would it be best to use the auto out of the Explorer? Also, which wire do you change in the engine harness?
@Tealmoney8571 u can use a late 90's f150 m50dr2 from a v6 4.2. Or a foxbody t5, or even later year t5. U dont need to change to an s10 tailshaft like i did either. U can use the mustang tail and trim the shifter hole back an inch or 2.

Just remember, 96 explorer for up to 97 rangers. And 99-2001 explorers for 98+ rangers.

Are you running the Explorer ecu or the Mustang ecu?
Explorer 5.0 99-2001 EQE ecu Works with 98-2000 rangers to my knowledge. Maybe even later years as well. For 95-97 rangers use 96 explorer 5.0 ecu
What about the suspension? Any changes?
Are you asking me if the suspension needs changes for the 5.0 swap? Or if i have made any changes? You do not need to make any suspension changes JUST for the 5.0 swap. But me personally. I installed the complete 5.0 explorer suspension in the rear. 8.8 rear end, sway bars, upper torque arms, relocated the passenger rear shock to the back of axle and installed the pinion shock. Iv also upgraded to poly bushings for everything and used straight rear-end links instead of explorer curved ones. And i install street performance front shocks and 2" DJM lowering springs. Soon will install DJM upper snd lower control arms (which themselves give a 2" drop)
@@SBS_Auto you answered my question like a beaut I've never seen a 5.0 explorer in real life. Last 5.0 I saw was in a 94 mustang. Early 90s explorer was a real gem. Highly underrated if you ask me. Only problem is I live in a rust belt. So they're all gone here 🥲
@@SBS_Auto you did those suspension upgrades right. I'm guessing that you lowered it for stability, or was it for looks?
@SH-gr1bc well, the explorer 8.8 rearend swap lowers the rear roughly 4" because it's axle over leaf, where the ranger is leaf over axle. Then you add 2" lift shackles to bring it slightly back up. But this leaves the rear a bit lower still, so hence the 2" front lowering springs to even it out. And when i get the 5.0 sitting in, it will be slightly lower
@@SBS_Auto probably could have put the leafs on top to make it higher. That's an old school trick. Guys usually put their springs under the axle when they want to lower their trucks. I've seen it with all kinds of trucks. But you did it the best way. I know you did some work to the motor. How much Horsepower does it have now?

@SH-gr1bc not for the 98-2000. But for the longtube headers i used on my 97 i had to take a tiny sliver out of the inner passenger frame rail, nothing substantial though. Easy install really. Plug and play mostly

I see you are using black silicone. Is there a reason or just preference? Why not clear? Not knocking you or your process, just wondering if there is a reason for black instead of clear...... I just purchased a 125 with stand in great condition for $50, tank leaks somewhere and I am about to reseal it completely for my own peace of mind. Thanks for the video, I've had plenty of jobs and projects working with various types of caulk, silicone, rtv, sikaflex, etc. so I am confident this will be an easy job. Especially after watching your vid. Cheers bro!

Pitt mixes are absolute lovers. Had to put my 15 year old Pitt down last June and it was devastating. Sought to adopt a Pitt shelter pup… DNA results just came in and he is also a dobi-pit mix. He’s currently an absolute terror but so intelligent and sweet! Your pup is gorgeous and a total love bug!
Im sorry for your loss, we lost our blue pits last year. Clash, my dobi-pit was also a terror as a pup but came around quick and is absolutely the most intelligent dog ever ❤️
