Cheers, Great band!
David was too talented for the BCR by far😎 Gaz Yorkshire.
The 'greatest pop song'' of all time was so simple that it became iconicly ingrained into our modern zen culture. Still don't know exactly what the song means though.😂 I think he kind of explained it well midway through though, that it's meaning is that we are sort of a Buddhist beam of light. Yep, thats it in a nutshell.
Love ANGEL FACE AND JUST FOR YOU . brilliant
Damn, is that Marty Jourard on the keyboards? If so, he’s been with Martha for a long time.
Wish we got to see the whole thing! 🖤
I really love Andy, (it's hard to stop calling him Adny, cause I remember the fan days, but I work at it). Bought the first Dictators record in a store in the San Fernando Valley (if you know what that means) when it came out. I believe that Andy knows the real meaning of rock and roll, and it's a goddam shame that he does not rule the world. Love and kisses, Simon.
In der Kürze liegt die Würze. 😅😅😅
"...strumming and humming new ideas...". We'll be waiting... I will 🖤
Great interview! But so short!
Glen Matlock didn't quit, he was fired because he wasn't punk enough.
Loved paper lace
Beautiful song, done by so many people in different styles, from new age ballads to hardcore rave bangers, yet the moment those descending piano chords come through it ALWAYS stops you in your tracks and tugs at the heart strings. I had a kind of mystical experience the day after my father died, hearing this song and it totally resonated, so there's another meaning conjured up by those few lyrics - saying goodbye to one's father is something everyone has to learn to do at some point. The song, which I loved anyway, took on a whole new meaning ever since. I love loads of other Korgis songs too, they really speak to me. "If I Had You", "All The Love In The World", "If It's Alright With You Baby", absolute classics, the lot of them!
This is a great interview
Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you.
he is obviously talking about rich gower here, although ironically rich was signed as a songwriter to rak for a few years after
Marty is class act met him in Melbourne australia a very approachable and a very smart man love you mwp greetings from manly australia
A "dream" collaboration for me would be Marty and The Edge.
Schade, das ich das Alles nicht verstehen kann. Kann leider kein englisch.
Mike leander deserves to be honoured What he did for music was well above at the time Unfortunately became of gary glitter mike never got the recognition he very we deserves Hopefully one day they will realise God bless you mike, hope you get the credit you deserve ❤
Loved Pilot back then, and still love their music now. Each member was talented in their own way, and their sound was so ahead of its time. Found this interview quite by accident and it's been a real trip down Memory Lane .... as well as being really lovely to see what a nice guy David Paton still is!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the interview.
I listen to you all the time…. Top Rank suit Brighton you signed my boob ish 😂😂😂😂 I sing January all the time on Karaoke…. Along with Jigsaw , sky high….. brilliant
The Church provided the soundtrack to my life and continue to do so to this day. Kudos to Steve for keeping The Church alive, but I miss Marty xo
I bought all 4 (were there more?) of their albums when they came out and still listen to them often till today. Great band.
Great interview. Regarding "Where Have You Been" absolutely fantastic track from a brilliant album.
The great Billy Vera! Great interview!
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed the interview.
He was in camel as well I think ,
Very good interview.
Heyday album I still play time to time.
Under the Milky Way, unforgettable song; starfish beautiful poem.
Those 3 Dictators records are unreal. They stand alone and apart and above it all, in my opinion. Those records transcend every scene. The songwriting is beautiful. Beautiful. Adny writes amazing songs, a major influence on Black Patrick. Ross the Boss is a monster. The best. HDM is the secret weapon any band would kill for.
3?
Abba have also said they based the song 'Waterloo' on 'See my baby jive', by Wizzard.
Can't help wondering how well-off he is after 40 years in the biz. His room looks like a student's place. Of course this could be his 3rd beach house. And I know it's none of my business!
Love this guy!
Peace. Keep history alive through rock. Y"all perplexed and amazed me when I first heard you a few years back.
Too much dope was a bit of a problem though back then in Oz as a lot of kids were chronic users dropping out of school, work and uni. It wasn't as strong as weed now but martys correct in saying it was everywhere. I played gold afternoon fix a lot when I was working at a pub in Cornwall in 1990 and had lots if punters ask me about the songs and band. Funny how Marty later moved to Cornwall. Love All about Eve still listen to them here and there but sadly Never got to see them live.
Am 61 , these guys were legends in the 70s. I saw them at tiffanys in 1975.
The Glitter band known to invite Underaged girls Backstage. I bet they got there own secrets to hide .. as do many other famous people By the way The star guitar I heard belonged to Gary Glitter
Young girls went to the bay city rollers backstage etc as it was the groups fanbase.
@@andywells397 so are you saying Glitter band didn't do it as well??
@@whoopee6354 cant you read ?
Put up or shut up!
I was one of those fans, knew them pretty well. Spent hours hanging around outside their houses. Absolute gentlemen, all of them. They appreciated us but as far as we all saw, never a foot out of line. Don’t tarnish people’s reputations just because of what somebody else did. Also, the star guitar was Gerry’s, he had a couple, he was famous for them. Very sad they were cast aside because of GG.🌺
Almost convincing toupe. Loved the Church in their "Heyday" At the Noosa Aussie Hop(It was in a huge field in Cooroy)Lot of Great bands that day. The Church, even on a stinkin hot Qld day had an amazing ambience and you almost forgot it wasn't just their show.
Edit and delete the first sentence, it's a dickhead troll move, and totally wrong. That said, the particular Noosa gig you referenced was notable because The Church deliberately delayed their arrival so as not to play before The Sunnyboys, a billing that peeved Steve Kilbey.
@@KevKavanagh Well they were awesome,as were the Sunnyboys. I referenced it because I was there.
@@seanquinlan6887 Good on you. You got there before The Church. Your stupid toupe quip? That's the issue.
@@KevKavanagh so not a toupee?
@@seanquinlan6887 never heard of the sunnyboys - do they sound like the church? (whats with the toupee comments?)

When let the church, was not the same. Anyway is the same with Richard
Pilot may not have been as proficient as in terms of volume of releases but definitely of the same caliber as 10cc, Queen, Gallagher and Lyle.
Great interview!! May I please ask, how were you able to get/land him on? Sorry to ask that, please let me know!
'Drivers seat' made you guys famous.
Looking a bit like Stevie Van Zant. Cool interview
What a nice chap
Russ Ballard…what a legend, wrote some fantastic songs.
Pilot where a great band no doubt about it…not many hits but the ones they did have are still revered today.
Love Ellen Foley, and I really enjoyed this interview .. Just wish it could have been longer .. I would love to hear her talk in more depth and detail about all her albums and the various stages of her career .. She speaks so well and articulately, and has a lovely sense of humour too .. Thanks for this .. Wayne
Great interview, and insight about a timeless classic single
