HO scale Southern Pacific Daylight
Two Southern Pacific GS-4 northerns pulling the famous Daylight passenger train crossing the river on the Miami Valley Modular Railroad. The train is my personal consist with the lead 4-8-4 being a Bachmann with a custom LED headlight, with Mars light. The trailing 4-8-4 is from Broadway Limited Imports and the 16 passenger cars are Broadway as well. All in HO scale.

Despite the rain Thursday and Friday at the Mill Creek Central Railroad, everyone who showed up had a great time running their steam, gas and electric powered locomotives.

    Is that locomotive very strong I mean the model btw ??

      There are two different brands. The lead is a Bachmann with a tsunami sound decoder with modified LED headlight and Mars light. The trailing locomotive is a Broadway Limited Imports, no mods. The cars are all BLI as well.

      Yeap, neither the Bachmann nor the BLI can pull the BLI consist alone.

    • @matthewash353
      @matthewash353 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that is very true. Even though the BLI is die-cast it still will not pull the entire BLI consist. However the cars themselves have a lot of rolling resistance because of the power pick up design.

      @@matthewash353, That is why I decided to get MTH GS4 and Daylight passenger consist. The BLI and MTH GS4 came at same time. In my club, there are grades that are 2.5%. Some of us got the MTH GS4 and some BLI. There is an immense difference of performance between the two. The MTH one can pull a MTH 16 car consist over those grades without issue. The BLI perhaps 7 max. Eventually, some club members swapped to MTH locomotive or stopped try to run them. I haven’t seen anybody run BLI for quite some years now. I do think that BLI has better detail, thought.

    Wayne, what a fantastic video. Of course I like the Soo Line F7 running through some of these shots. Very nice photography and lots of extremely well done pieces of railroading stuff. We will long remember this magnificent trip and railroad. We are looking forward to August.
