La pianiste et compositrice Lorraine Desmarais est reconnue dans le monde entier pour ses prestations en solo, en trio, avec big band puis avec plusieurs orchestres symphoniques. Elle compte à son actif douze albums de compositions originales. Trois de ces albums (Trio Lorraine Desmarais, Jazz pour Noël et Big Band) ont remporté des prix FÉLIX au Gala de l’ADISQ. Elle est titulaire d’un Doctorat Honoris Causa de l’UQAM et nommée Membre de l’Ordre du Canada en 2013.Lorraine Desmarais s’est produite en concert avec des artistes internationaux tels Chick Corea, Oliver Jones, Joe Lovano, Kenny Wheeler, Jacky Terrasson et le Diva Big Band de New York.
