In the district of Pune, Maharashtra, there is a fort situated in a hilly area called Sinhagad, which is located approximately 25 kilometers away from Pune. The fort was previously known as Kondhana. It is situated at an altitude of about 4400 feet above sea level on the eastern branch of the Sahyadri range, making it a part of the Bhuleshwar Ranges. With its mountainous appearance resembling two staircases and a tower called 'Manora' erected for panoramic views, it attracts everyone from Pune and beyond. Magnificent forts like Purandar, Rajgad, Torna, Lohagad, Visapur, and Tung are visible from this fort.
