Unbelievable! Brilliant direction, incredible musical direction with new changes, great team work from exuberant cast. Congratulations, oops forgot to laud the scenic designer. Bravo a thousand times!
@@thomasmayk because American have less understanding of the language used in shakespeare. And the rythen of the American accent doesn't make shakespeare's words flow in the same way as with any of the British accents
The "proper" British accent you're referring to is called Received Pronunciation (aka King's English) but it did not develop until the 19th century. Thus, the English of Shakespeare's day (16th century) was rhotic like the American accent and sounded nothing like the RP utilized in modern Shakespeare plays/films.
@user-rh2io7gm1l the shakespeare accent is more like a combination of East and Northern English. If you ever get the chance to hear Shakespeare performed in a northern English accent, it is something special. The speech pattern and accent bring something extra to the verse. RP is only spoken by 5% of British. Modern RP which you may consider to be the standard English is only used by about 20% of the British
During my last year in high school, 1966, my high school put on a production of this and I had the privilege of being in the orchestra. This brings back fond memories. Thank you.
imagine having enough boys to do this show..... or having a healthy budget that can afford those costumes and sets..... but seriously this show was so incredible, I cannot believe these are high schoolers. phenomenal!!!!
We did the play at Jones County High School in Gray, GA and I was the lead singer in "Another Opening, Another Show". The play is honestly garbage when there isn't singing. I wish there was a video online with nothing but the songs in the musical.
Rather short attention span... Ahem! If you but listen my dear fellow, you'd realise that this was one of the Bard's wittiest and pants pissingly funny comedies.
It's a brilliant production. For a high school production it's amazing!

Shakespeare doesn't work in an American accent unless it's a Southern drawl
Where is that written? Is it in the rule book?

43:13 this dance number was fantastic 👏
This production blew me away. This not an easy show to do at the high school level. The orchestra, vocals, acting and stage scenery excelled.
This was outstanding!! And this is a high school--must be a Performing Arts High School!! My God!! The two mobsters are my favorites!!
Great Job!
Love this musical!

"Tom, Dick, or Harry" might be the filthiest song every written for a Broadway musical, and I love it so much. Book of Mormon could never.
Not filthy, more like risque. Porter was a genius at that sort of thing.
i love it sm
one of the last shows I saw before Covid shut Broadway 🥲
Ohhh so cheaply made..!
well yeah, its a high school production
Cheap? Did you see the sheer number of costumes. Three sets? Two backdrops? This is no where near cheap.

do you mean hattie (idk how to spell it) i played her too! so much fun haha
Hard to believe this is a high school show. Dang.
Much better harmonies during the Tom Dick and Harry song than I could have possibly imagined for a high school performance. Wow!
was the too darn hot number always this long?
God the dialogue is too long and boring
I guess Shakespeare is over your head. Cole Porter probably is too.
Rather short attention span... Ahem! If you but listen my dear fellow, you'd realise that this was one of the Bard's wittiest and pants pissingly funny comedies.
This makes me miss doing musical theatre at my high school(Lakewood High School in Lakewood, California)

Amazing job!!! Congrats to all the cast!! 🎉👏🏻😍
Wow. I thought the cast look young, but I still can't believe these are high school kids. Very talented!
I thought this was awesome. I cannot believe it was high school kids! GREAT JOB!!!
This is a HS production? None of these plays give any info. I got the info from other’s comments. Thanks.
